Amazing Tier List. I agree with every game that I played at least. I guess the games that are on D and E rank I will never try but the other ones that I didn't played yet like RE3 remake I will try someday when they are like 90% discount promo lol (Here where I live they are too expensive, third world countries are no joke. A new game on release date in America is $70, here where I live is almost 25% of monthly minimum wage of my country). I remember when I played code veronica for the first time and I almost gave up because I needed to kill Alexia with the knife. That swap character system was cancer. If I knew before I played I would have used more save slots lol.

Honestly I would say 6 was better than 3remake just out of sheer content. What I paid 60 for at the time I got 40 hours of game play instead of 60$ for a game I beat in under 3 hours with no extra content

RE3 Remake feels like if Steven Spielberg had remade Jaws and went "ppl rly liked the shark" and started the movie showing the main character on a speed boat shooting in the water behind him as he's chased by a fully visible and roaring shark.

@@Bawkbasoup What annoys me the most about RE3 remake is that if you clip out of bounds in both the Downtown, Clocktower and Hospital Area, you can clearly tell they have intention to use these blocked off areas as part of the game. You can tell because enemies in these areas have zero pathing issues and can move around or over obstacles (e.g. hunters can vault over cars outside the hospital)

If I remember correctly there was a Japanese music creator who was deaf, and the developers decided it would be cool to let him do the music... then later he was exposed as not even being deaf, he was a fraud. So it got an absolutely ridiculous clown sountrack. A clowntrack.

3 remake is a colossal disappointment. I was really looking forward to the branching paths, extra weapons from Nemy, Raccoon City exploration, unlocking the costumes etc. I really wish we could get a proper remake or hell, just release a new edition from the existing game and add some stuff to it, to make it a lot closer to the og.

So i mailed Capcom a letter when i was akid suggesting that they make a gameboy color resident evil game. My argument was that the GBA was still new and they’d sell more units on the GBC. They mailed me back (really cool paper with Capcom characters all over it, still have it) saying they had no plans for a Gameboy RE, but like the idea. Then BAM, im at the mall like 9 months later and sure enough, Gbc RE. Even included the suggested characters i said they should use. So i like to believe im the reason for Gaiden.

That exact same thing Bawk said happens to me with RE4, and I can't even count all the times I've replayed it. I love it, but there are certain sections that you know they are so long, it is so hard to go through, and you know you have so much game left that a momentary rage overcomes you. For me it normally happens with long enough sections, and from the Castle onwards (except certain parts of the Village, like the Bella sisters boss fight and Gigante fight, probably even the way from the church to the lake). The Island just drives me up the wall, like I know I'm so close, but yet so far to finish the game. And not to mention "those" enemies that make me feel like I couldn't wait for it to end: Regenerator, Verdugo, Garrador and the Novistadors.

The RE3 Remake section really resonates a lot with me. I preordered this game INSTANTLY because I had huge hopes since RE2 Remake was an absolute banger. When I finished RE3 Remake, I felt... nothing. I felt I beat a game, and that's it. I tried to play it again, to get... something out of it. And I just couldn't. I still hope to this day they'll release a better version of this game, somehow. Maybe one day...

Some people love to act as if they're really emotionally hurt over some features like zapping system, or more detailed b scenarios, it's just the part of internet to stir up the drama Do I feel fine with these features missing? No, of would be nice to have them (extra fixed camera mode would be interesting), but in reality, all the stuff that is missing, is miniscule The core survival horror game is still amazing, and it translated perfectly into 3rd person (which is a feat in itself)

I had no real nostalgia for RE3 so the Remake was the most fun RE game for me. Just a rollercoaster ride with a super satisfying dodge with slow-mo. It was short so doing a quick run in an evening was awesome. I put 80 hours into it. Beat it and got all achievements on Xbox and Steam.

Spot on about RE3 Remake. For me I played the hell out of RE2R, S ranked all difficulties, speed ran to get nearly under an hour for each scenario. I did things I haven't done in games since I was a kid. RE3R comes out and I played it twice. Normal and hardcore. Dropped it after that. The game was good, it was fun, but it lacked the replay factor for me. The unlockable costume amount was a disgrace. No extra gamemodes added after launch. They really did treat this game as if no budget was provided.

The biggest issue with RE3 Remake wasn't that it scrapped bad areas while the others took the bad areas and improved them. It was that it scrapped GOOD areas and then didn't even replace them with anything at all. I liked the lab thing at the end, however short it was, and they made the factory a warehouse that sandwiches between the lab and hospital. But that doesn't fix what they did wrong, which was 90% of the game. Even the areas where Nemesis came out were scripted. He shows up at the same spot everytime and he is as random as Mr X in RE2 Remake, as in not much at all. He just comes straight at you until you get to the point where he just stops. After that, the rest of the game is a straight line. Not to mention that and the very short flamethrower and RPG parts he is in are the only times you see him in his humanoid form. After that it is just 2 mutated monster fights and done. I know there are 3 but two of them are literaly the same thing, just with a few random zombie added to make it harder and for no reason they shove the camera up Jill's ass to make it impossible to see them. It is the only part in the game where the camera is so close to you at all times...... and it was done intentionally to make it harder.

After i was done with 2's remake i remembered being so hyped about R3make and the whole "explore more of Racoon City" idea but in the end i was so dissapointed with what we got. Missed this series completely in my youth - just saw my uncle once play CV on Dreamcast fighting the Nosferatu in the fog. I had a japanese version of Dino Crisis 2, tho and I couldn't figure out how to progress short after the first T-Rex encounter. Dude you were totally dead-on about the Tyrant fight in RE:CVX. I actually had a Dreamcast back in the day and played the original version, and I got completely soft locked and gave up at the Tyrant fight on the plane. Years passed and I later played the re-released version on PS2, and wouldn't you know it, I STILL got stuck at that part, and I had to start over and hoard my ammo.

Thinking 7 is better than Village is insane to me. 7 has literally no enemy variety, the whole game is nothing but molded and insects during one section, and the game falls off considerably after the first section with Jack and Marguerite. Combat is also a lot worse than in Village. I'm not saying Village is perfect but it's a way better game than 7 in my opinion.

@@MarkHogan994game is famous for its “horror” yet to me it stops being scary after the first hour and even then it’s never scary after a first play through and this is coming from someone who gets scared somewhat easily in games. If I replay RE2R there will still be a moment or two that gets me even after 20+ play through meanwhile re7 never once scared me after the 2nd.

Awesome video Bawk! I like how you appreciate different aspects of RE games - even the smallest things. I 'm watching your videos and stream from few years. It's so awesome that after all those years you still love to play RE games which makes it very enjoyable to watch! This particular video made me thinking about my ranking and it's indeed not that easy to do 😃 My favorite ones are: RE1 Remake, RE2 OG, RE2 Remake and RE3 OG so it would be my S tier. I love other games too: RE 0, CV, RE4 Remake, RE7, and RE8, but I noticed that I don't like to go back to them that often, even though the games have an amazing gameplay and overall setting. I like to explore places like Spencer Mansion, R.P.D Station and Clock Tower. Love to dive into more calming, but yet creepy mood that allows me to relax after hard day. Spending some nostalgic time and listening to save room theme is also a huge part of it. RE4, RE7 and RE8 are really action packed, which is kinda cool, but I have to feel quite relaxed to play them. I'd personally prefer to have some bigger section of the game focused on the exploration and finding the items to solve the puzzles placed all around 😊 Anyways, this was an awesome idea for the video - it was really cool to hear your expertise on each of the RE game in such a detailed way and see how you'd rank them at the same time. Loved your play throughs. I’m a big fan of RE0 (my apologies) ha ha. But when you first pick up the hook shot it actually tells you it has a 50kg weight limit. So I think it’s the game telling you to send Rebecca. But my favourite is RE Rev 2. Love the replay ability. Keep up the streams, and a big hi from England.

I love RE0. Either sending Billy or Rebecca up, its the fun bit you can experience the different gameplay between the both. I find it challenging but fun by placing Billy up and never thought of it as annoyed. But I am one of the few that think 0 is fun

When i was a kid, i didnt even know that RE3 has a dodge system haha CVX was so scary with the dead bodies in the bunker bed :SS RE:Village had a better treasure system than RE4, where you found actual items from characters and the trader responded to them. In RE4 you just found the same items over and over and they had no background. Also wouldnt mind having so very hard puzzles, they shouldnt stop you from progressing just giving you something nice that you wouldnt get otherwise. Even some hard fights that arent necessary but if you do them, you get special items or maybe change the ending slightly

Re1 Remake blew my mind when my neighbors across the street got it for GameCube when it came out. I had previously owned the original 3 and CVX at the time. RE1 Remake is my top 1 along with 2 and 4 when remakes are involved. As for originals Nemesis is my top 1

All those people calling re2 remake high A are trying to be some pretentious purists. I love the lore and the OG games but RE2 remake has absolute god tier gameplay even if u don’t enjoy horror games / don’t care about the lore of RE. They nailed it on their first try with this remake. And then there’s the RE engine which looks gorgeous and is so well optimised. The cutscenes / voice acting is so natural compared some top tier games coming out even now. They did so much right it’s hard to imagine how it could’ve been anything else. I would 100% want to see more stories / branches and of course they could’ve added some more but as a game on itself it’s a complete experience that did everything right.

agreed, RE2 remake is easily my favorite horror game it has everything. Characters are dynamic and super likable or easy to cheer against depending on their role, guns feel impactful on the zombies and there is good variety, boss fights are great and in my opinion it’s the perfect length and perfect mix of action/horror. Plus it has infinite ammo weapons to unlock so replay ability is great

Really well and thoroughly explained list! I especially appreciate how well you explained the divide on Code Veronica. I was always confused about it myself, only hearing bits about it second hand and not playing it for myself. But I think I will appreciate it a lot more, knowing about its faults and proactively preparing going into it in a similar way to how people are on FFVIII. Another game people either love or hate depending on some of the choices they make in the game.

I was lucky enough to climb aboard the Resident Evil train when it was released in 1996. I still remember the old PS1 longbox and the art inside was terrifying back then! Now I think back on it, I wish they would've introduced the quick turn instead of auto-aim. Or make auto-aiming a function by pressing R2 to cycle through enemies like in RE3.

People have to understand that remakes don't offer as much content as the original game since expanding it will increase the required install space and increase production costs. People have been complaining about install size for years and Capcom has to follow guidelines to allow a game to release. If they increase map sizes for example, it costs more money.
