Personally, I'd have to put this Kyle guy in B tier. The redesign isn't offensively bad or anything, there's actually a great deal to like, but there are a few major issues I'm not sure I can agree with. I'll start with the positives. Mainly, it's Kyle! How can you hate the guy? What a scrumptious beard and wonderfully dreamy eyes. Truly incredible. We also can't forget his dripped out air pods, a nice touch. Sadly, we have to get to the negatives. The most glaringly obvious is how blatantly inferior his design is to the five year time skip. He isn't sporting any of his iconic accessories like the pop-tart earrings or the QR code linked to his magnum opus "Fire Emblem Dates." Most offensively, this new design lacks the most essential element of his character. Where is his pink shirt? Perhaps we'll learn more about his backstory in this alternative timeline in which he has abandoned his beloved pink, but given the really mediocre character writing in the entire FE franchise, I have zero hopes. I also feel that the decision to give Kyle short hair instead of the luscious, curly locks that reached down to his waist was a giant misstep. Overall, Kyle's redesign has some okay ideas but fails to be anything particularly pop-tartable. I'm sorry, but a Kyle without pink is a Kyle I can't abide.

Ok so hot take: Dorothea’s post timeskip and three hopes designs look very similar to me. I feel like more could have been done with her design in that regard. Other then that, I love her :p

My top three have to be Marianne, merslaydes, and Petra Also with Lorenz honestly his timeskip in the original three houses was so good they basically kept him the exact same in three hopes jut gave him different hair.

I'm 100% biased given she's my favorite character period, but Marianne is absolutely the best redesign imo. Also I feel like people hone in WAY too hard on Hilda and Ingrid's racism to the point where they either forget or don't realize both characters not only recognize they were wrong, but also actively make efforts to better themselves. Iunno, I just feel like reducing them to "lol racist" is doing both an extreme disservice.

I have a feeling nobody knows when Three Hopes takes place in the story. The designs are obviously the phase between the time skip in OG 3Houses. Ingrid is trying out shorter hair before she cuts it very short. Caspar is growing out his hair. So are Ferdie, Ashe, Lin and Lorenz. Gotta look at Caspars scar. He is growing out his cover that scar. Bernies hair is more a product of not being able to get it cut or trying to grow it out maybe. You gotta remember that they all just came from school after the war broke out and are probably trying out styles that are practical in battle while also figuring out how they want to look as adults. And since this is before the time skip in 3Houses, a lot of them are growing out their hair, so they obviously won't look like their OG post time skip designs. I'm gonna play the OG warriors soon to get a feel for the gameplay. I also finally finished Xenoblade 2 aqnd Torna. I cried like a baby during both endings. Now I can wait for Xenobalde 3 while hopefully being able to finish 3Hopes before XB 3 comes out. I also want to play Grandia 2 at some point. And I still need to finish Arceus and Trails of Cold Steel. Gotta take some time to play all these games when I get back home.

Ok bet. I'm a Leonie simp, and while you could argue other characters got better glowups (you can only improve perfection so much after all) I think Leonie's 3 Hopes design subtly but substantially improves her outfit, even if her hair itself isn't too radically altered. Her outfit drops a lot of the bulkier/wider elements (the flowy jacket around her waist, the sword and scabbard above her lower back) and rearranges others (the shield on her shoulders is no longer crooked) , giving her a sleeker, slimmer look that, combined with a more vivid shade of orange, combines to make her look youthful like her school design, but still experienced and battle-ready like her war design. Her old design let those elements stand out to show that Leonie was a one woman army ready for anything, but her new design is better tailored to a fast-paced action game.

I have to disagree that Edelgard wouldn’t wear her three hopes design. You can always see that Edelgard does care about her appearance, and more important, does enjoying expressing her femininity. Her academy outfit has bright red tights and ribbons in her hair, and her post-time slip in three houses is actually very girly too. It’s silhouette almost looks like a dress, and it’s adorned with hearts. We think she wouldn’t because she is stern and strong, but I never saw her as not feminine, and she never expresses distain towards her femininity. I think it makes her such a great female character, and her new design really captures that.

Going with my girl Lysithea first with Marianne being second and Mercedes third. Although I like Ashe and Ignatz, I'm not the biggest fan of their heavier armor design instead of their medium/light armor they had after the timeskip.
