Taking Over is my favorite, as well, and for pretty much the same reason...it's one of the ones I grew up on in the 80s. I'm not sure about putting Feel The Fire into the box set like that, as satisfying as it may be, lol! Maybe it's just the purist in me, but if it didn't come with it, then I don't include it in the set. But it does look good in there, I must admit. 😃 I don't have the original vinyl of Taking Over to compare, but I do have the Music On Vinyl pressing. Haven't done the comparison yet, but look forward to it!

Interesting. Taking Over was my introduction to Overkill also and I had heard at least one other of their albums at that time and even though I never listened to them, my love for Overkill's style developed within as their sound had made an impression on me but it took over a decade for me to really appreciate it. I came back to it after about a decade and now Overkill is my favourite band but I struggle to rank the first 5 albums as to which is my favourite because they are all amazing albums and that's all that am going to rank here because they're all that I listen to of their albums. 1> Feel The Fire 2> Taking Over 3> Horrorscope 4> Under The Influence 5> Years Of Decay

Definitely years of decay as number 1 Difficult after that to list, as im not the biggest overkill fan, but Bobby blitz really makes this band, and he still has a great voice. I think they should have been in the big four, in place of Anthrax

Overkill deserved the fourth slot in the Big 4 over Anthrax. I've gotten every Overkill album on it's initial release since the first. Consistently great albums every two years(or so). I Hear Black and From The Underground are my least favorites. Grinding Wheel and Wings of War were a little disappointing post Electric Age, which I thought was a modern masterpiece.

I can't get into Overkill's first 3 albums, even though they are held in high regard. They sound amateur and dated, even for their time. Look at what the Big 4 had out during those years; they were light years ahead. YoD and Horrorscope were the game changers for me!

I Hear Black is a great album let down by weak production. I feel like more people would been onboard with it if it hit like a sonic sledgehammer. Some of the riffs are massive

@@PossessedByMetal666 to me if you ask me to recommend 3 Overkill songs to sum up Overkill, those 3 songs are the 3. I always loved the Overkill series of songs on each album release. I used to look forward to each new release to hear the continuation of the song, so I'd always pop the needle down on the last track 1st, solely to hear the song. Great episode of a truly underrated band that should be even bigger because they have a really consistent catalogue over all these years, similar to Testament & Death Angel. I only wish the Big 4 were that consistent.

I really liked the sound in these albums,It was very warm and clear maybe a bit low but I think that’s much better than it’s to loud. I really discovered Horrorscope again in this box, I have listen to it every day since I got the box. I would have liked a book or something more with the box cause here in Norway the box costs 150 euros and that is much for just 6 albums.But that aside I’m glad I bought it.My favourite’s are no 1-2-4-5 and 3. And right now my favourite song is Bastard Nation 🤘🏻🇳🇴🤘🏻
