It's the 45th anniversary of the release of the KISS solo albums and I'm ranking all 39 of the songs.

See You Tonite was the first song I was able to play all the way through on the guitar. Ha. I really dig the MTV Unplugged version. Get well soon! :)

Love it! I will always fondly remember the fall of 1978: we got FOUR NEW KISS ALBUMS! It took me awhile to snag copies of all four of them, but snag them I did! My ranking would be different than yours, largely because I love Gene’s album the way you love Ace’s, but when we look at the individual albums, we are pretty close. Rip It Out is the class of Ace’s album and Fractured Mirror is filler (cool the first time I heard it, but repeated listening isn’t kind to it). I’d put Mr Make Believe above Always Near You/Nowhere to Hide, but they’re both gems, and When You Wish is the worst song on the album (but I like it, truth be told, and would have it way up in the overall ranking). I thought at the time and still think that Peter’s album is actually pretty good; it just suffers from being in a different genre. Paul’s album has grown on me the most over the years. I thought it was okay back in the day, but I think it’s excellent now. I hope you get to feeling better, Paul. Some of us look forward to these videos!

Fantastic Banner Commentary with Covid I might add and this was great to watch! Here is my top 10 songs only. 1) Hold Me Touch Me 2) It’s Alright 3) You Matter to Me 4) Kiss the Girl Goodbye 5) See you Tonite 6) Mr. Make Believe 7) Love in Chains 8) I Can’t Stop The Rain 9) Man of a Thousand Faces 10) Tie between Always Near You & Ain’t Quite Right I’m always odd man out so I’ll be honest no Ace songs for me. I’ve listened to the album a bazillion times and I just don’t go with the masses on this one! Beatles or Beach Boys-Beach Boys Faces or the Stones- Faces Zeppelin or The WHO - The WHO See I told ya!

I had to click off after Take me Away. Man, the vocals on that chorus are amazing. And still watching as I'm typing. Wouldn't you like to know me?? Both of those songs are better than the entire Peter album combined times 100!

Interesting project, Paul. I was never a huge Kiss fan but i remember that the release of the four solo albums on the same day was a big deal. (There were full color glossy ads in all the comic books i was reading at the time!) From what I gather the general consensus is that Ace's was by far the best and Peter's was the worst. 😾 I'm unfamiliar with almost all these songs but i may do a ranking if i get a chance. The one song I know and like a lot is New York Groove.

Maybe you just have "Rock and Roll Pneumonia....Better "..call out Dr. Love!" Feel better. That was an historic time for KISS fans the week of September 18, 1978!
