Hey George, greetings from the UK, great album count down brother, im 52 & as funny as it sounds I couldn't listen to Kiss as a young boy as I found them too scary, hahaha, the make up and Gene spitting blood & so on! It really sh*t me up as a kid, Things got a little easier in my teen years thank god, Lol! I'm so glad to see Revenge in your top 10, it's my fave non make up album, I also saw them on that tour in Birmingham UK, simply fantastic! I do actually love the Crazy Nights album too, it's just the production, for me it lacks real bass & balls, some great tunes though, Turn on the night is such a awesome feel good rock song! Kiss have such a fascinating history, I love watching documentaries on them, im so grateful for their music, I get a lot of crap from the younger dudes I work with because I love old rock/metal bands like Kiss, Ac/dc, Whitesnake, Ratt & so on, but I don't care, I have good taste in music & so do you brother, never shy away from who & what you are! Enjoyed listening to your views George! Thanks! I did a ranking myself a couple years ago. I probably need to revisit it again and see where everything lies, I'm thinking I would probably move a few albums around. I never liked Gene's songs on Animalize, which is why I rank it so low. I thought it was Gene's worst album. I might have the first album higher if the production was better on it (aka if Eddie Kramer had produced it like he produced the demos!). I break mine into tiers: 1. Rock & Roll Over 2. Love Gun 3. Dressed to Kill 4. 1st Album 5. Destroyer 6. Hotter than Hell 7. Creatures of the Night --------------------------- 8. Dynasty 9. Unmasked 10. Psycho Circus --------------------------- 11. Lick It Up 12. Crazy Nights 13. Asylum 14. Hot in the Shade 15. Revenge 16. Music from the Elder -------------------------- 17. Long time Kiss fan, but what you said for Psycho Circus is what really did it in for me. Tired of the deception from the group... As far as Albums go for me Creatures, Destroyer, Alive, Revenge and Rock and Roll Over, then throw in the rest. I had so many of the original vinyl albums and wore them out. Bought COTN new as a kid when it came out and loved the cover. Again, found out later Ace didn't do anything.... Songs for me and I have them on the thumb drive for daily rotation plus many more from the group. 1. Saint and Sinner...Love the drum playing by Eric. 2. I Love it Loud...Turn up the Bass and let it go. 3. Detroit Rock City...Does this one need an explanation? 4. Do You Love Me...When I got the chance to see the reunion tour this song really sounded great. It just kept betting better with time. 5. Deuce Live...Way better flow than the original version and just kicks you in the ass with the sound. 6. 100,000 Years Live...Ace's solo 7. Cold Gin Live...Still remember the reunion tours when Gene's voice was going out and Ace sang it. He really drug out the "Quart" part. 8. Heart of Chrome...Great song , if you have not seen Chris Jericho's cover of it with Bruce you need to watch it. 9. Unholy...Beats you in the chest. 10. Love Em Leave Em...Corny but, I like it. 11. Shock Me...Ace Way many more can go on this list, but these don't get skipped in the music shuffle. I agree with Sure Know Something, great song in my opinion. Also liked Rain, just a different vibe from the group. That whole album was all over the place. I tried to listen to some of the odd stuff when I was younger (The Elder, Unmask, Solo Albums) . Just couldn't get into it them. Most of the mid 80's stuff was hard to listen to after you got through a few songs. Never bought anything newer after Psycho Circus. I did see them play live before Covid with Tommy and Eric. Took my family so my son could see what all the hype was. Awesome show, Tommy played the part, but just wasn't Ace's sound. Eric Singer beat the drums to death in a good way. Would have like to seen Eric Carr play live before he passed. Good list. Take Care.

Cool video. I think you're about my age (55), maybe a little bit younger. I loved Star Wars, Disco, and Kiss all at the same time (lol). I absolutely agree with your top 2. I would have put *Kiss* and *Love Gun* a bit higher up the list, though. In 1975, the year I turned 8, my fucked-up older brother did one cool thing for me: He gave me a couple of bucks to buy any single I wanted, plus "Rock And Roll All Nite" by Kiss which he had just recently heard at his best friend's house. I of course had never even heard of Kiss before. From their name, I just assumed they were some new Disco band (I guess presaging the *Dynasty* album a few years earlier), but I was intrigued and so when I got home and he wasn't home yet I decided to put that single on first. I played Side A (the *Alive!* version), and it changed my life. I was absolutely blown the fuck away. I had never heard a song like that before and it was absolutely amazing. I played it a few times in a row before I flipped it over to Side B, the studio version. I liked it, but not nearly as much as the live version. I think you're literally the only Kiss fan who prefers the studio version to the live version, LOL. It's all good, though. Rock on. 🤘🏻

Original KISS Army kid from June '76. Ace Frehley rules! ⚡ Anyway, here's my Top 12 (or baker's dozen): 1. KISS ALIVE! 2. Dressed To Kill 3. Rock and Roll Over 4. KISS 5. Hotter Than Hell 6. Love Gun / ALIVE II (tie) 7. Dynasty 8. Destroyer 9. Creatures of The Night 10. Unmasked 11. The Elder 12. Lick it Up SOLO ALBUMS from '78: 1. ACE FREHLEY 🛸 (easily #1!) 2. PAUL STANLEY ⭐ 3. GENE SIMMONS 🦇 4. PETER CRISS 😼 Finally, I am so sick of hearing this inane, knee jerk opinion about the "production" on the first two classic KISS albums being "the reason"... BS! I can understand someone saying it about "Hotter Than Hell" (but for me, it absolutely adds the LP's character and dark, evil sound!), but when it comes to the debut, I think you're all on crack! The LP sounds great! Especially as a debut album. Yes, of course the songs sound better on ALIVE!, but I personally feel that this album's sound, feel and power is perfect! Each of the first 3 KISS albums are uniquely excellent in this way. What, do you all want them to sound the same? I love their own special qualities and then having them all go to another level on KISS ALIVE! M ⚡ p.s. I don't care about anything after Lick It Up. That's some other stupid hair band...not KISS. Asylum is a decent effort for the MTV crowd. I was 19 when that came out. I hated it. But over time, i appreciate it slightly more... for it's time. Feh... REVENGE is ridiculously overrated! To me, it's a one track album. "UNHOLY" is brilliant, but the rest of it is a who cares affair, with some songs (Domino, I Just Wanna, etc.) being cringe inducing. Saw them at a club show on that tour, with my soon to be wife. It was good. At least they didn't look like sequin'd drunken housewives, like they did in '85-'89.

@georgegsroomofrock9868 Hey, thank you, George. Appreciate your kindness and respect. I get what you're saying about being born in 1970 (I'm a '66 kid). I actually think very highly of Creatures and Lick It Up. It's just after that, you know. Being an original KISS Army member, loving Ace Frehley, being inspired to become a good player in my own right, because of him, and just loving the original band! That ferocious, killer group that stunned and amazed us. When you get to the mid 80s...with that embarrassing hair band look, and Bruce Kulick, etc. it's just not the same band. And I do actually feel bad for kids who were simply born too late to experience that original fantastic group, and the 1970s in general. Because, you know, you're always gonna like the shit from your childhood. And for me, the original KISS, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, T Rex, AC/DC, ZAPPA, etc , etc. plus the 1970s itself...the films, everything was so f****** great! But I understand. Marc ⚡

Being crazy about Desmond Child and the cheezy and keyboard-y sound of the 80s, the ''Crazy Night'' album is for me one of the best and one of the most frustrating: not only the tunes are incredible but in addition, ''Sword & Stone'' and ''Time Traveler'' are missing, two of the best songs Paul ever wrote with Desmond Child. Add to that the fact that ''Hide Your Heart'' (again with Child & Holy Knight) was supposed to be on the album, these omissions are a musical crime! I know that's not a popular opinion because 'real' fans swear only by the ''Alive'' period of the 70s but there it is. The 80s era of Kiss (and Desmond Child for that matter) were my favorite period. I can't wait for a special edition of that album (just like the new one for ''Creatures Of The Night'').

For awhile there Music From The Elder was erased from history. Sort of. I came of age when Kiss was in their non makeup years and you could easily find all their albums on cassette except Elder. I don't know if it was out of print or what but you never saw it ever. Record stores back then had these little things that looked like ATMs and you could look up bands and find lists of all their albums on them. Elder wasn't in the database.
