Great video and thanks for responding to my question. My top 5 is mostly the exact same as yours but I would have Stewie over McBride. I also love the Jonquel Jones shoutout, she is one of the best offensive players in the league. Her efficiency is elite and she is one of the best passing bigs in the league.

Good offensive players list. I think Kelsey Mitchell and Arike Ogunbowale could both pretty easily be on the list too. Ogunbowale's shooting efficiency is likely what kept her off your list, but I think her assists help make up for the less efficient shooting. I would give her an honorable mention. Mitchell's true shooting percentage on the other hand is very good. She is so dangerous off the dribble (step back jumpers or driving) that I would put her ahead of McBride for example in spite of the lower shooting percentage. It would be easier for a defense to come up with a targeted approach to stop McBride if they so desired than would be the case for Mitchell in my opinion. I would also put Stewart ahead of McBride for the same reason.

Thanks Hunter. Enjoyed the topic , Commentary and Stats/Details. I’m sure it’s hard to categorically put rankings together while trying also to be Be fair for Players who could be mentioned. Overall a great job, although I was surprised to see a couple players like Kelsey Mitchell that did not even make your honorable mention list. Kelsey is Currently 8th of the Top 20 WNBA Scoring at 19.4 PPG while Kayla M. is 19th with 15.3 PPG Kelsey is Averaging roughly 83.7% Free throws, 0.3 Blocks. and 2.7 Rebounds, Kelsey is shooting well from both deep range and short range shots, and Driving alot Successfully underneath to the Basket as well. But I do understand that Kayla probably has better numbers overall, and why She is mentioned here. I’m just surprised that Kelsey didn’t make the Honorable mention list. In any case, thank you for the topic and the rankings. I certainly hope that the Fever keep Kelsey Mitchell and find a way to re- sign her, Shes a Valuable piece of The Core on The Fever. And I think there’d be a Few Teams Interested in getting Kelsey If she doesn’t a renewed contract with Indiana. Kelsey was the 1st Round 2nd pic from Ohio State, I think back in 2018 but I’m not sure. I was wondering Hunter, just a general question, Nothing that I felt needed deep thought nor important enough to ask on your chat page. But do you have like a Personal favorite- Most Underrated player? And if you don’t wanna answer that here, that is fine, I just thought to Ask you. Anyway thanks again Hunter. Looking forward to the next video.

Caitlin Clark got Rookie of the Month AND Player of the Month for August. Because CC had many more Assists, she won POTM over Kelsey Mitchell who is locked in for her three pointers...recently dropped thirty six points, for example. Offensive efficiency needs to factor in assists.

It's true that Raven took it to CC in 2024. They designed their defense to stop her. She still scored 30. Say what you re Clark. All the coaches knew her favorite moves/directional changes and shots. She didnt score much @the beginning of this season b/c Sides didnt want her scoring. She had her on the perimeter & the ball was never passed back 2 her. Learning curve 4 everyone. Tbh, Sides needs 2 change her tune or the team needs 2 trade CC or replace Sides. Also, she needs 2 keep her hands off her players. Very disrespectful 2 most people.

I wanna respond to the Reese vs Cardoso comment… I think on paper Cardoso has all the advantages over Reese (Which is probably why she was drafted much higher). However, you have to look at what happens on the court. I’ve never liked Reese, but I’m starting to believe that she might just be a winner. Some people just compete harder and outwork those around them even when they may not be as physically gifted. Maybe Reese is that dude… Idk, I’m not committed to this viewpoint, just thinking out loud. Jury is still out I guess.

I think I might have to disagree that Kamilla Cardoso is a better player than Angel Reese. She certainly didn’t have a better rookie season (albeit I believe that’s mostly due to injury and inconsistent playing time/surrounding players). I think Cardoso has skills that, long-term will give her a higher ceiling than Reese (i.e. good positional size, playing at the most important position defensively, good touch at the rim, good/patient post up game, decent motor, good screen setter, great post passer/vision), but outside of basic stats like fg% and blocks, Reese had a better on/off, better win/40, RAPTOR, PER this season…and even the eye test would suggest that Cardoso is a slow-footed drop big while Reese is a switch big. This inherently puts a cap on the defense you can build around Cardoso (you need guards/forwards that can get around screens and apply back pressure to ball handlers so they can’t just pull up for short mid range shots) as opposed to Reese who is a reliable 3-5 defender who can easily rotate and switch based off of the opposing team’s offensive plans allowing for a larger variety of players to surround her. Simply, put, Cardoso bleeds points when she can’t set up blocks or great rim contests. Cardoso is definitely a more skilled/better offensive player overall. Although, I do think there is something to be said about Angel’s foul generation that’s not talked about enough. From getting opposing players in foul trouble, to getting your team in the bonus, to resetting the defense, and obviously just getting easy points at the line, I think she’s one of the best in the league at that particular skill. I also just believe this is her floor as a rim finisher and that in her prime she’ll be closer to 47-49% at the rim (she won’t ever be a 60% or higher rim finisher). I think she’s a decent passer, especially as a post entry passer, but her handle needs to get better, she has to set better screens, has to see the floor better after getting offensive rebounds, has to take (and make) more 3s. If she’s even a 34% 3p shooter in her prime, that would be elite for her particular player build. This is all to say that, I don’t believe either of them performed that well offensively this season, so what stuck out to me the most is Angel’s versatility and effectiveness on defense. Okay, I’m done. Whew 😅

You listed top 5 Offensive players but it seems like you looked at shooting and true shooting stats and just kind of went with your gut on assists to buff CC on to the list. Based on 2024 OWS: A'ja 6.9, Stewie 4.4, Mitchell 3.4, Phee 3.3, Nneka 3.2, JJ 3.2, K-Mac 3.0. CC is at an OWS of 2.1 and KFC has a 1.3. Always great content.

Can't complain about this list ,i actually think kmac and alanna don't get the shine and exposure they deserve ,kmac is one most efficient guards that at times is sacrificed defensively to guard the opposing teams best player,Alanna's game has improved incrementally since her rookie year with the fever. She's athletic ,versatile ,effective shot blocker and has good ball awareness ,top notch player in my book, the only thing she picks up too many silly fouls.

Caitlin isnt a true 3 level scorer right now. The midrange is not something that she's worked on or shown in college or the w. Sabrina was similar when she came in, but she's worked on it and its showing significant improvement. I think next year CC will have added that to her game and the she and Mitchell will be virtually impossible. Point guards you missed are Courtney Williams, who hasn't been a true pg most of her career, but shes playin like one at a high level now. As is SDS, Jordan Canada and sleeper alert...Odessey Sims.

@@dschrute8 I watch all the games for most of the teams including Indiana. And yes Caitlin has made a couple of midrange shots, but you can tells she's not comfortable there and she still passes up a ton of midrange opportunities, which causes her to turn the ball iver at times. Like I said, I think she adds that next season.

Caitlin clark would only average about 6 to 8 points a game on her own. You can't count wide open shots behind screens and put her in the top 5 . Chennedy carter should be on that list. There's no way she should be in top 5 . Probably not even top 20 to be honest.

@RichardIILionheart sounds like an excuse to me . A real scorer can score a lot of points behind a screen and without a screen. Jordan didn't need screens. Kareem never got screens. Bird would fade-away on you all day without a screen.
