@@merc4644 Im a lexie fan but I get it for the simple reason before the break nobody respected her 3 so it killed the spacing. She absolutely has been playing at starter level as of recent but earlier in the season she was better used as a spark.

Topic suggestion: top 10 all time individual game performances based on gamescore. Gamescore stat for sure favors shooters but would kind of like to get some context to some of A’ja’s games this year (a few in the 30s). Always great content.

Veronica Burton is going to have a very long career in the W simply due to the fact that she is an All-WNBA level defender. I can see her carving out a career similar to Briann January (who happens to be one of her coaches at CT).

I know people weren’t especially big on Olivia Nelson-Ododa and I understand why because of her slight frame and she’s not a stretch with a 3 pt shot. But, I’ve always really enjoyed her game because I think she is an incredible passer as a big. I think she can have a long career as a high value bench player and strong veteran presence off the bench just because of her ability to distribute the ball to playmakers from the lane.

Thank you Hunter. I enjoyed your topic/rankings and commentary. Although I’m still Kind of going over it all in my mind. Well put together Nonetheless, and I know there is a lot that you have to consider doing these rankings. So it’s fair to say that there’s going to be opinions and differences. Im a Fever Diehard Fan, But I do understand completely why you have Lexi Hull Where you placed her and the reasons. I do want to say on her behalf that there were many games, she did not play much, and who knows if she had been playing more, She is a Tenacious Defender on opponents, and Can shoot well, but she averaged less than 15 minutes per game Most of the season. And lately Lexi’s minutes have increased abit. But also consider when you have a coach like Christie Sides, Who previously before the All-Star break, kept changing things that was working for The Fever, mixing things up, counterproductively, and making poor decisions, any Coach doing those things, does have an effect on player stats. On a personal note, I think Lexi is going to blossom. I’m not against NaLyssa Smith in any way, but NaLyssa is very inconsistent, She doesn’t finish, sometimes her defense is there, and sometimes it’s not even on the court like she’s in La La Land. Where I honestly think, compared to Lexi Lexi is at least very consistent during her minutes that Lexi is given, where she gives 100% and NaLyssa simply does not. -Side Note. If it were up to me, going into the remainder of games and Playoff picture, My Solid Starting 5 for The Fever would be, Mitchell, Clark, Boston, Fagbenle, and Flex option with Hull or Dantis. And secodary Smith, Wheeler, Samuelson and others, In on Strategic and short Rest break for Starters.

Nyara is surprisingly mobile. I don't remember the team she played but I remember watching sprint down the court. Her and Burke are a lot of fun to watch and including Naz Hillmon I believe are capable of guarding quick guards on the perimeter. Hillmon can guard every position I would like to see her get more of those opportunities.

Rae Burrell had a very impressive game in the Sparks win over the Liberty on Aug 28. She kept a lot of LA possessions alive when they were threatening to come up empty or be turnovers.

Last Fever game Hull started in place of Samuelson.I said, finally, Hull replacing Samuelson. Then they mention that Samuelson is not playing due to personal reason. Hull does everything better than Samuelson. She needs to start, the Fever would be a better team if they make the move. Hull's game will improve as well. Smith needs to come off the bench also based on her performance this season. 😮

100% agree. If you look at player stats and their development arc a HUGE number of players start slow in the wnba then have a big performance bump if they make it. It usually goes back to their college averages. I think Hull is having that bump now… a lot has to do with CaItlin being her PG

Hulls defense is really a huge part of her value …makes up for some lapse in defense from Clark, that’s a key piece to the Clark offense. Gabby did it for her in Iowa

Nyara Sabally will probably be great soon, she wasn’t healthy to start and she plays behind Jonquel. Shakira is a PROBLEM when healthy, she’ll be an All-Star. NaLyssa will be solid especially if she leaves Indy. Naz Hillmon showed in Athletes Unlimited that she could be nice but she isn’t an offensive option. Rhyne is probably going to be All-W soon.

S. Austin continually stays on the bench injured. Rhyne Howard is inconsistent as hell. The Fever need a head check for letting Emily Engstler go as well as Henny. Clouden was overrated, injury prone and has been waived by the Sparks.
