honestly, as a filipino, it's one of the worst characteristics of filipinos. this guy was genuinely mixed with samoan blood and other things, but so many filipinos who are ethnically 100% filipino claim to be anything but filipino. so many filipinos want to claim spanish blood when in reality less than 0.1% of the population has spanish blood (according to harvard and multitudes of other studies, including my own personal experiences of seeing filipino relatives be shocked at their DNA results when they claimed being spanish their whole life ;-;). if anything, most filipinos DNA results would look like 90% filipino, 5% chinese, and 5% other (likely indian, guam, or malay). it's problematic, and no one should be "proud" of having no real identity. we're filipino, and it's time for so many filipinos to actually embrace that instead of saying something else.

The moment I saw Lily I sent her to the end. No one of Asian culture would dress up that exposed unless you're at a cosplay event. I mean she's free to dress however she likes as a person, it's just not something you see in Asian culture.

This is something I really struggled with for a long time. I'm 1/4 Japanese, grew up in Okinawa and moved to US when I was around middle school. I actually work as a translator but in Mandarin not Japanese 😅🤣 and a lot of my job is teaching chinese courses/culture/history and I've always loved cooking Japanese/Korean food at home, going back to Japan to visit when I can, etc etc but.. since I am mostly white people always approached me with a "huh I could tell you were "something" mixed but idk what" sort of vibe, I even had a terrible ex tell me I wasn't asian and I shouldn't be allowed to say I am since I'm not "mostly asian blood" and he was white lol... but as I got older I found myself connecting with books about women who were asian/mixed asian/asian raised in US and their experiences that led them to find their identity. Idk I felt really asian watching this video even though I'm not as asian in blood as anyone on screen 😅😅

Questions are based on Asian Americans. If I ask questions. 1. Describe your garden. 2. Favorite fruits 3. Do you attend temples 4. Favorite trees to climb. 5. Love Beaches? Swim skill? 6. How often do you walk out? 7. Favorite Asian Drinks? 8. iPhone or Android? 9. Soy Sauce or Fish Sauce? 10. Ever use a Sarong? 11. What's type of rice? 12. What do you wear for swimming at the beach water?

This was amusing and I'm glad it floated into my view. I have a Japanese Hawaiian aunt who married into my family, and a cousin from her and my uncle, and I've always been aware of the idea of some Asian folks ranking themselves on how Asian they are, worrying about it, feeling pride on some things and insecurity on others. The insecurities and bragging was a neat view into how these 8 Asian people viewed themselves and the cultures to which they belonged vs. from which they came

Scary how Nigel pegged Julian as "overcompensating" due to his mixed race background. It's called "collecting (Asian) badges." Bravo to Nigel's insight and Julian's capturing the #1 Asian position.
