FM 2384 Blisters, Not The Memory I Wanted. Hotter N Hell 100K 8/26/2023

The day arrived for the Hotter N Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls. I drove there on Friday, went to bed early and was up at 4:45 AM to get ready. Driving to the parking areas I found a spot close to the Event Center. I brought my Canyon Endurace bike for the ride and got it out of the Jeep, attached all of the accessories and rode to the 100k starting block at 6th Street and Scott. The sun wasn't up yet but it didn't take too long for it to brighten up. The planes flew over at 7:05 AM as the national anthem finished and the cannon boomed. I thoroughly enjoyed the 100k this year...my first HHH, heck, my first group ride 🤣, despite growing up and living in WF most of my life! Boy what a contrast between those lovely rollers westbound on 367 vs the chipseal on FM 2384! I have no idea how you managed to film on that section! I was just trying to hang onto my water bottle while drinking. 🤪 It was fun to find myself a couple of times in your video.

Congratulations on your ride. FM 2384 was rough especially compared to the roads before that. The GoPro was on a mount on my handlebars. I probably would've dropped it otherwise. Glad I capture you in the video a couple of times. Thanks for watching.

I was at my first HHH this past weekend. Made it to Hell's Gate at 10:30am and it got really hot after 11am. Luckily the storm clouds came in later and we finished our ride with cooler temps. Wish I ran into you to say hello.

Bringing back memories. I went to college there and raced for the college team. I lived right over there by the start line. Are they still having the USCF races as well as the HHH?
