***** you should only submit them if there is a major change on your website (perhaps removed/redirected your URL structure?) and you should simply leave it for anything else. Crawling process will depend on the amount of content you publish and the amount of backlinks you get from quality sources. Basically, if you want quicker crawl, then put out more content regularly. This will make Googlebot to visit your website more often

Hi Kelly, thank you for your constructive comment. Also, I have seen that you are playing around with #Google *Keyword* *Planner* *Tool* looking for ideas for search patterns. I would actually encourage you to _first_ utilize #Google Search box and play around with the search box to get the exact type of searches. Meaning, both the terms _How_ _To_ and also _How_ _Do_ will be searched and stemmed in to *Any* type of industry (including cleaning services). And if we look at Google Search Box carefully, then we can see that by just adding a *Letter* in-between our search terms will reveal more ideas for keyword targeting. You could then, also check out the SERP and take a look at top ranking website's sources code (Control+U on your keyboard) and particularly look at *Meta* *Description* and *Meta* *Keyword* tags to see if you can expand your keyword pool. Hi Cintia Montilla, first you don't need to use Crazy Domains as your website hosting provider, so whether you are using Bluehost, GoDaddy, Siteground or any others, you can still upload this file. All you have to do, find an online #XML sitemap generator and enter your domain details and they will create that for you. Once created, you will have an option to download the newly generated XML sitemap file to your local computer. From there, simply login to your web hosting account (if you don't know how to do this, go to the help section of your web hosting providers website's support section since most of them have instructions to login to web hosting manager). Once you are logged in to your web hosting account, find File Manager menu option (clicking on that will take you to folder where your website files reside in) then click on public_html (this is the name of the folder for almost all web hosting companies provide (but at times it may be named _public_ or _html_ etc. Either way you need to locate that folder through your web hosting account, once there, you will have an option for *upload* then simply upload the XML file into that public_html folder. Then login to your Google Webmaster Tools account and submit your sitemap

If you are using Yoast SEO for Wordpress, how often should you re0submit the XML sitemap to Google Webmaster? E.g. you remove 2 pages and add 2 new ones,should I submit the XML sitemap again?

You should only submit XML sitemap again in Search Console *If the site has gone through major update* and in your case, *no* you shouldn't re-submit if you removed 2 pages or added 2 more. Google search engine will update its database automatically when it crawls your website again. So you really do not have to do anything with your sitemap. If you want those 2 new pages in Google index quicker, then you can use support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812 *fetch as Google and request indexing feature* (that's better suited for your new pages)

Hello RankYa, I uploaded the same robot.txt you have to my site and after that i FOUND many problems regarding connecting to the server and errors in the sitemap.well,i deletd the sitemap and created another one also i changed the robot.txt contain to User-agent: * Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /cgi-bin/ but I still find errors in the sitemap as some urls are blocked from google?

Hello Nashwa, I suggest that you delete the current directives in robots.txt file and just use User-agent: * Disallow: above allows all access, then, you can double check the errors in Search Console. Also, use site:www.yourdomain.com to see if Google can access your site. Furthermore, Yoast SEO plugin sitemap feature is great and I would use that instead of standalone sitemap plugins.

hey Rankya, great vid. One questions I had. On my sitemap xml, I have all of the full links (ie www.mysite.com/index.html") and the parent folder without the name of the file (ie. www.mysite.com/"). this is for every page. So I have both ways to write it. Is this necessary? do you know? thanks!

Extra insight: I had this on my .htaccess file: ###This makes the non WWW to go to WWW RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^rankya.com.au [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ www.rankya.com.au/$1 [R=301,L] ### This makes this index.html to go to home page without the index.html RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*$ RewriteRule ^index\.html$ "https\:\/\/www\.rankya\.com\.au\/" [R=301,L] Now at this stage your question was about having ie www. mysite. com/index.html in *Sitemap* the answer is *No* just have only 1 version and throughout your linking structure, always use the 1 you choice in your sitemap, but keep in mind, *Google does a good job with this anyway* as long as you just use 1 version in your sitemap.

Mh Rumi Hi there, yes it does take some time for Google to index a new site (it has a mind of its own; so no one can tell exactly when (it could be a day, or week)) anyhow, you can speed things up by sharing your new site on your social profiles (because Google will then follow those links) I hope this helps

Tez_Nation all you do is simply delete the page (bad link) from your website (make sure you delete any internal links from menu etc), then update your sitemap and resubmit, then let Google work the rest out and simply focus on creating new and useful content. Google will de-index that "Bad link URI" from its index soon

Good Evening, After installing my XML sitemap successfully following the steps above I get the following error message in "Yoast plugin" The following file(s) is/are blocking your XML sitemaps from working properly: /home/jdsol376/public_html/sitemap.xml Either delete them (this can be done with the "Fix it" button) or disable Yoast SEO XML sitemaps. Hello Jeff, this is easy fix. Login to your web hosting account > File Manager > public_html (this folder may be named different depending on the web hosting setup > sitemap.xml file. There is a file called sitemap.xml in the web root folder, download that (although you won't need it, its always smart to back things up with website configuration) once you have a backup copy. *Delete sitemap.xml* this should fix it, let us know the outcome, thanks Jeff

If you are using Yoast SEO Plugin to generate the sitemaps, and then, deleted the sitemap.xml from the server. You can now safely remove *sitemap.xml* from Google Webmaster Tools sitemap list. Simply select check box, and press on *delete* the old file because *sitemap.xml* is no longer available on your server. Instead, test and submit the new sitemaps Yoast has generated for your site. For example: post-sitemap.xml and also page-sitemap.xml these 2 are important for all WordPress sites. Keep in mind that you can, submit and re-submit anytime in confidence.

Thanks RankYa your insight has been invaluable. The original problem I was trying to solve is with YOAST. Two things; your youtube guide for YOAST shows an older version, I adapted as best I could but maybe I did something wrong. The reason I say this is when i am in YOAST/XML SITEMAPS & use "You can find your XML Sitemap here: XML Sitemap" I get the error "No Results Found The page you requested could not be found. Try refining your search, or use the navigation above to locate the post. " That's in the URL extension : /index.php/sitemap_index.xml So YOAST is not generating sitemaps for me. Hi sir, Thanks for your reply! I was eagerly waiting for your reply. I am not unable to get this where this issue coming from cause whenever I submit the sitemap to webmaster tools and test it. It says that " generated http error ; 404 page not found. " I tried to change the htacces file and which turned into 500 internal error. Than I solved that 500 error anyhow. Step 1: Go to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and *Click on Save Changes* *without modifying anything* Step 2: if you're using any Firewall plugins, then make sure that there aren't any settings for disabling sitemaps from general visitors. Step 3: use robots.txt tester and give the URL to your sitemap to see if its being blocked Step: 4: check HTTP headers to see what server response code is generated (for example 404, 500, 301) and then come back here and comment so I can better assist you (also inform me about the plugin you are using for your sitemap)
