Great Stuff, I do want to add something that I didn't see in the video and it's the actual Analysis of the competitor's backlinks - without seeing the actual backlinks profile of each competitor any competitive research would be only partial at best.

Very straightforward! Thank you. In analyzing competitor's page, am I correct to say that this is completely legal since it's basically "out-there" and publicly displayed, and "copying" their keywords is not illegal since they don't own generic terms?

Leilani Moselina Hi there, it is perfectly legal to analyze your competitors and even use their keywords because they don't own those words. Also, everyone on internet who is running an online business does this. So go ahead and look at everything that they have (including the parts of their website which may not be visible) through the #google web search. So you can conduct #Google search like so: site:www.yourCompetitor Dot Com OR site:www.yourCompetitor Dot Com filetype:pdf etc I hope this answer your question Leilani

I live in Thailand and obviously google gives me search results from Thailand. However, when conducting competitors websites research say in America or Europe, would it be best to use google.com/ncr or &gl=us at end of URL? Any other suggestions upon specific country search results?

David Gathercole G'Day David, your competitors are defined by their location, which Google will have a search engine specific to that country. So you can simply go to google.uk if the target audience is in UK, or you can just search google.com if they are in USA, you can also www.google.com/search?as_q=seo+expert&cr=countryUK OR www.google.com/search?as_q=seo+expert&cr=countryUS OR www.google.com/search?as_q=seo+expert&cr=countryAU

Sitemaps aren't indexed in Google like the normal URL's so its best to submit in search console and analyze the sitemap issues there

I see, then its wise to explore the website source code (for example: if its WordPress using Yoast, then, sitemap-index.xml can be checked, or if its WP using all in one seo pack, then sitemap.xml can be requested to see) but I would strongly encourage you to not worry about this at all, instead allocate time to create new practical content on your own site :-)

+Søren Gjessing this is probably due to the website you are analyzing kept the details of webalizer private. Here's what you also can try "stats, logs" filetype:txt filetype:pdf filetype:doc and also site: (then go the last page of Google results) and take a look what it shows, you may also press the link that says "ommitted results" etc. So at the end of the day, if the particular website you are analyzing does not have the details you want, then move on to similar websites in the same industry, this would be ideal approach.

All of the sudden I have gotten to the part where you type in the browser: www.domain.com/wp-includes This is not related to SEO, but I did this for a couple of my sites and was surprised that all of the WordPress files show up like your example. I did this an it worked on my site where everything was in the main root directory. A few of my sites have WordPress installed in different directories - for example: www.debralyn.com/debralynmusic That directory is where WP resides. It seems like I need to add the directory to these lines and I am not sure how to add this: RewriteRule ^wp-admin/includes/ - [F,L] RewriteRule !^wp-includes/ - [S=3] RewriteRule ^wp-includes/[^/]+\.php$ - [F,L] RewriteRule ^wp-includes/js/tinymce/langs/.+\.php - [F,L] RewriteRule ^wp-includes/theme-compat/ - [F,L] Would it be: ^/debralynmusic/wp-admin/includes/ ... Hi Debra, I am sure that you don't need to change anything with this code, because each wordpress installation (even if its in subdirectory) will have .htaccess file, it is in there you place this code and try that, and it should work, if not let me know (always backup your .htaccess file before you tweak it)

mehdi hussain mehdi hussain all you have to do is double check if Google Webmaster Guidelines shows your sitemap, if it does, then it doesn't have to show you through the file type: search results. So there is not issue there

Basically, this is to find out Who is the owner of domain, when it was created etc. Couple that with Wayback machine can reveal how often the website gets changes/updated (this gives you an idea as to HOW and to WHAT Degree the site owner is moving with changes with Google) therefore, who you are competing with and how much effort you need to make on your end. But since you are learning Search Engine Optimization with RankYa, means, your competitors just can't compete with you in Google
