Yoooooo B what it is!!! What lease is there to say, Ran does the most with the least words. I believe this is what makes him the best lyricist. He doesn’t beat you in the head with a bunch of words we’ve never heard of say things just for the sake of rhyming. I’m my mind this is what separates him from every other MC. The depth is so vivid you can slice it. Like you said his self help book would be crazy. BTW that kat spazzing on that freestyle was old Ransom. Check the old Clue tapes/A-Team mixtapes. Still lyrical Ran just super street with it. Telling you now his mixtapes are unmatched (that’s right Lil Wayne fans). I rock with DC4 but the more I listen, the more I think American Made and Arrival woulda been the best songs on DC4...they don't necessarily fit the theme of DC4 but at the very least they'd both be 2 of the best 4/5. And preciate that!

The only bad thing of these projects is that they never get passed a certain level. Maybe he needs a different type of producer that will learn him to be less monotone.

Yeah that’s honestly a issue with most guys in this east coast, 90s inspired, mafioso lane. Great spitters but since they have very little son structure it can get repetitive, and even tho Ransom might be the best bar for bar in this lane - he’s held back because he doesn’t have the best ear for beats. If I think of the best albums. If I think of the best 2 albums in the space - Piñata by Freddie Gibbs and The GAT by Mach, both those albums have 10/10 production and the production is very dynamic on top of how well they rapped on it. Production on this album was good but it’s more around a 7.75/10 imo. I think ran’s best project is chaos is my ladder in large part cus of the production. I would love to hear him do a tape with Futurewave, dj muggs, or alchemist

I actually rocked with DC4 just not as much as like DC3 which was best in the series…maybe not even 2…but this joint is easily better imo. I much prefer this content from Ransom - he’s just way better at telling those hood stories and dropping gems than dropping social commentsry

I personally don’t love his choruses but I 100% see why you say that. With pretty much every random chorus, you gonna get at least one fire bar but I put that more on him just being a phenomenal writer. When I think of best choruses in this lane of hip hop- I think of guys who are a little more dynamic with their delivery like say Westside Gunn, stove god cooks, even a Mach Hommy. But I Fasho see the argument 💯

His tape with V Don had sick drums and that’s prob a big reason why it’s his best project. Will say tho - I think some rappers do the drumless sound extremely well but i think Ran just doesn’t have the best ear for beats unfortunately. Like even from craven, his songs Power Nap and You Ain’t No Menace from his project with Boldy James last year were incredible imo and didn’t have any drums.

I’m with you - I think it has more to do with ransom’s beat selection cus I don’t think Craven’s beats in general sound the same. Def same style but for example the tape he did with Boldy doesn’t sound like his stuff with ransom. I do prefer when Ran works with Craven tho because craven’s better than those Trust in house producers by a long shot. I personally think he should do some work with conductor Williams. I could see that being an amazing pairing
