Yes! This series is just great Pete. Although some jealousy cannot be avoided with all those great concerts you enjoyed. One lucky man you are! Thanks for sharing

Loudest gig I’ve ever seen was Motörhead at the Astoria in London in 2000. At the end of the show Lemmy asked us if we wanted it louder, to which we foolishly replied in the affirmative. ‘Ace of Spades’ started and it was punishing. At the end of the song I found that I was standing about five feet further back and I hadn’t consciously moved an inch. I was shouting at people for a week afterwards. Your mentioning your Guinness nightmare reminded me of something. In 1985 I was going to see a gig at the Marquee club in London and popped into The Ship pub for a drink before it started. I was 16-years-old and underage, but no one gave a fuck about things like that back then. So as I enter I spot two very familiar faces near the door, namely Mr Lemmy Kilmister and Mr Phil Lynott. Being a cocky little sod I went up to them and said “I’ve bought all your records and I’m skint. Will one of you buy me a Guinness?” Lemmy looked at me and ordered me a pint. He handed it to me with the immortal words, “There’s yer pint, now FUCK OFF!” He said it with a grin on his face and Phil Lynott was pissing himself laughing. For the rest of the evening I kept repeating “Lemmy told me to fuck off! Lemmy told me to fuck off!” like a mantra. I was so proud...

Great show Pete! Gonna watch episode 4 now! Love the Guinness episode. Many years ago I had a 6 year period without alcohol and then on my first day back to drink I had 11 pints of Guinnes. Felt ok the next day which was a wake up call in itself!

Good work Pete. I started going through my ticket stubs after watching this. I found lots of them from Kiss in 1992 to Alice in Chains yesterday in Birmingham ( The home of HM!). My first concert was back in June 1978 when I saw UFO on their Obsession tour in Bristol. I was 15 years old. Seen loads since then and I admire your memory. I can only remember snippets. Also the diversity of stuff you’ve seen. Looking forward to episode 4.

This part is even more mind blowing ! How have you found time for work ??? On the first part I spoke about our similarities and said about the 10k race analogy..... Now you're crossing the line to the sound of the bell... and I've just arrived on the start line. Another great instalment...

For loudest, I remember seeing Ministry on one of the Lolopolooza tours up at Montage Mountain outside of Scranton. We got there a bit late or were wandering around, but wound up really far up the ski slope, hundreds of yards from the stage. I believe Ministry cane on around dusk and we’re bragging throughout the tour about how loud they played. Also recall thinking, “whatever” I’ve seen Motörhead countless times! God they were loud!! They played “supernaut” and I thought my chest might cave in!

Some the concerts I saw were Cheap Trick (small venue in Boston), Asia (Alpha tour), Rush (Grace Under Pressure tour), Grateful Dead (1983), Grim Reaper (1984 in Boston) and Elton John and Rod Stewart (both in Boston).

There is a TRIO band on Reverbnation. Orange Eye. EP was released and set to be but things happened. Listen to the EP. Well recorded. We did that on the back side of Three Doors down on the expensive side. Hey Pete... Go listen to the EP. Orange Eye..."Bent Over Velvet"... Just go type in Reverbnation Orange eye. You will find the original 5 tracks that sound like the studio recordings. 3 piece band

I’ve gotten chills many times at shows. But it takes a bit for tears to come. Here’s the times I recall: Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1987. (Especially when the Pittsburgh Civic Arena roof opened during my favorite song of all time: Southern Cross Elton John in 1989. Just about every damn song. Mary-Chapin Carpenter in 1990 (I had a huge crush on her) Iron Maiden in 2003 with Dio and Motorhead. I was four rows back Pat Benatar in 2015. It was a show in Vegas and I snuck to the front row and got to shake hands with her. I touched her DNA! And it was the softest DNA ever!

The loudest gig I ever went to was Saxon in the early 90s at Mansfield leisure centre. I had seen them at larger venues dozens of times and they were always deafening live but that gig was a pretty small hall and the PA they had was huge, it hurt your ears.. Couldn't hear properly for days.. Iron Maiden had a record breaking PA at the Monsters of Rock festival with 120,000 people watching it but that never seemed anywhere near as loud as that Saxon gig.

Best live gigs I ever went to was Monsters of Rock UK 1984. What a line up. Accept, Gary Moore, Ozzy, Van Galen and AC\ DC

Ted Nugent 2nd Winterland gig. Huge PA. Viciously loud. Plug your ears from the nose bleed seats. Ridiculous. I have some friends who are more interested in playing loud than playing good. What's that old saying? If you can't make it good make it loud.
