Totally feel you about the re tightening. I'm currently in the process and its day 3. I started in the middle and I'm still in the middle lol. The rest of my hair will probably take 2-3 days but that middle section takes forever! I only have 386ish locks. I can't imagine what I'd do if there were more of them.

Hello! I’m am considering getting SL but I am military and don’t have consultants in my area so I know that when I get them installed I will have to do my own maintenance majority of the time. That’s the only thing that really scares me 😳 because I know I would want them small and I don’t want to be overwhelmed or get frustrated with my hair and possibly damage it

I’m so glad you’re thinking about getting Sisterlocks! 😍 I would advise to still get them but since they are very fragile in the beginning, they need to be maintained by a professional and that professional can be you! If you take the necessary steps and classes, of course. The organization offers 4 day trainings nationally and internationally, see through the link below. www.sisterlocks.com/4_day-class--dates--locations.html I recommend the training course to avoid possible damage like you mentioned instead of tending to your hair without proper knowledge. I’m not sure how your schedule is or where you’re based but if this isn’t feasible for you, there are other options second to Sisterlocks such as interlocks, two strand twists, and more which can also be managed by you and watching other informative KZbinrs. Have you ever thought about combining them to make them slightly bigger and it won't be so many to retighten? Eventually I will be doing that because I don't have time..

How bout you get it professionally done every other month? That should help with costs and sanity lol. And for the times you do it yourself, I always suggest recruiting a friend and having a girls' night to retighten! Lol it's easy enough to learn and you won't be alone in the struggle lol. My installation went well... and then my lady messed up my grid at the first retightening by not fixing the parts! SMH but the frizz is real, so I can barely see my grid 2 weeks post reti lol. how did you learnt o do your own? im on my way because even after allll the research i did no one prepared me for the unprofessionalism, lack of response from the consultants on the website, the website not being up to date and the GOOD consultants being booked. ugh.
