Rant of the Week: The 'foreign interference' scam

On May 3, 2024, after conducting months of investigation and hearing from more than 60 witnesses, Canada's Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions issued a report on alleged foreign interference in the 2019 and 2021 Canadian federal elections.
Despite incessant fear-mongering from Canadian corporate media and neocon politicians, Commissioner Marie-Josée Hogue found that the Canadian electoral system is "robust" and that acts of foreign interference "did not undermine the integrity of our electoral system... Our system remains sound."
While meandering through the central Athens neighbourhood of Exarcheia, which is a hot-bed of anti-fascist resistance in Greece, Dimitri Lascaris ranted about the sordid reality of foreign interference in the domestic politics of Canada and other Western states. Lascaris argues that no state on God's green earth interferes more in the domestic affairs of Canada and other Western countries than the United States.

Thank you Dimitri. What you said about Hollywood’s propagandist role is very interesting. When I was young, we were saturated with films on Vietnam and how all these poor American soldiers were coming down broken etc. There was hardly next to mention of their murderous handiworks and all the human death and misery that they’d inflicted. The same tired mould was rolled for similar Hollywood works on Somalia, Iraq, Iraq 2, Afghanistan, Yemen etc..basically ‘foregrounding’ the white, western experience and ‘backgrounding’ the victims of their wars, an ideological version of ‘full spectrum dominance,’ where the murder gets to be victim at the same time!? I think it was Oliver Stone who said ‘Hollywood and the Pentagon are two wings of the same bird.’

I read a book about that Greek junta years ago. It was called "Z". Then I became overwhelmed by the other horrors of this world into which I'd been born : Vietnam, the Shah of Iran, the coups in Chile and Argentina, the horrors of Central America. I've never given much credence to charges of "foreign interference" A few months after 9/11, Scotland was shocked when a visiting Greek crowd a some sports event booed the Stars and Stripes when the American team came on the field. They remembered that the torture equipment used by the junta had "Made in America" stamped on it. People have long memories.

A couple of things about the 'foreign interference' in Canada. Apparently none of the people being coerced knew about it until told by the '5 eyes' surveillance system, and CSIS, or whoever, released the accusations to the media, why was no one charged? Also, it's pretty well documented that the Lester B. Pierson prime ministership run was funded and managed by the Americans. The real question is, *who is the real foreign country influencing Canadian elections?*

The Donner Canadian Foundation put some big bucks into the Canadian Bar Association's 1976 “Committee on the Constitution”, chaired by Gérard V. LaForest, which reported in 1979. I managed to get a page or two out of the Donner files before they woke up, but I did get some good information proving that the real purpose of this committee was to facilitate the dismemberment of Canada after a “Yes” vote in Quebec in 1980; which I know Trudeau was aiming for so the break-up and refederation as “associate states” on the EEC-EU model could be done under the guise of a “constitutional amendment” in 1982 ..... Instead, we got the bogus “patriation” that was admitted by Trudeau's chief Charter advisor, Barry Lee Strayer, to be a Southern Rhodesian-style coup, not a constitutional amendment. “PATRIATION AND LEGITIMACY OF THE CANADIAN CONSTITUTION The aforesaid committee, by the way, makes the CBA a subversive organization. Donner has since become linked with the Fraser Institute.

I lived 16 years at Exarcheia. I learned there about Palestine, and many other causes the media and government would never mention and chose to "ignore", just by randomly reading the grafiti and printed documents and publications from independent sources while walking and commuting there. Even back then there were 4 full manned police vans surrounding the perimeter 24/7 so they can check what goes in and what goes out, even thought themselves never got in unless under covered. Yeah the square is a sad sight but knowing how the information is imprinted on every stone of every building, as long as the human potential remains intact they will get around this. Are you aware of the very close link between the 1980 Quebec “sovereignty” referendum and the White House, the CIA, the Secretary of State, etc.? Their preferred question and scenario were used. But there's also a close link between the CIA and the creation of the North American Forum on Integration (NAFI), a subversive tri-national movement modeled on the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) in England, to persuade Canadian-American-Mexican students to adopt a “North American” identity. This becomes interesting when we consider that Maurice Sauvé, the first president of the WAY, would 18 years later become a member of a “secret committee” that helped set up the Parti Québécois to organize referendums on the dismemberment of Canada, to be re-federated on the basis of the EEC-EU treaties. And that the North American Union is intended to be the North American equivalent of the European Union, but that this cannot happen until the Crown and Parliament of Canada have been ejected, which would happen after a “Yes” in Quebec. And these regions, these Unions or communities are intended to be placed under a one-world government, executive and judiciary (being worked on, for example, at The Hague). Meanwhile, what do you think of the “industrial democracy” of the former Yugoslavia under Tito? Communist? Or not?

I know a guy who is proud of never watching corporate media. He gets his 'news' from youtube mostly but doesn't sign in so takes whatever they offer him. Oddly, his opinions mirror the corporate media exactly. Yeah, I've tried to show him that the same forces that control corporate media also control youtube.
