God yes. "Porn scripting" is absolutely the vibe.

Agreed, I tend to love romance/smut written by females as I find they just understand what it takes, but I found myself struggling with a lot of explicit stuff

I found it hard that the author kinda of glorifies rape/sexual assualt when its between the "love insteret" and how Z Expecially given the job that he does, and the empathy he shows towards the victums

I struggled with that, too. It just didn't line up for me. The thing is, CNC (consensual non-consent) is a thing - just shift course a *tiny* bit and it would have worked. It still wouldn't have fixed the writing or the unlikeable characters, but at least it would have made *that* part make sense. Thank you for the comment. I'm glad it wasn't just me!

@EfiLovesBooks I will be honest this is my first dark,DARK romance and if it wasn't for the murder plot and the spooky stuff(which I find gets quickly swept under the rug and never mentioned after she finds the missing pape) I wouldn't of continued.

@@kibble9990 I found the ghost stuff *so* disappointing. I wanted so badly for that to be a thing and it just... wasn't.
