I completely agree. The ending/"plot twist" was very disappointing and unsatisfying.

THIS! All that buildup for what? “accidentally” starting a fire that you ran from for safety that may have “accidentally” hurt another child while you were also a child 10 years ago… are you for real? Why are these two girls so dramatic about the silliest things? And what’s up with Kayla and her hot and cold personality with Esme. Are they really best friends because the things they say to each other makes me think they hate each other. Except the last couple of chapters the entire book is just: a childhood secret, a couple of dead deers and creepy msgs, a couple other lying counselors, and whole lot of of blabbering in Esme’s head. And the last chapter, oh all your friends are dead and you’re going to jail. Frustrating
