Headbangers Ball used to pull crap like that all the time. You wait all week to see some different videos and then they play the same Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc ... videos they play multiple times a day anyway. The show is 3 hours once a week, and they filled half or more of that 3 hours with the same crap i could have seen any day of the week at any time of that day. I don't miss Headbangers Ball in the slightest. It was just a journey into frustration.

Mr. Mister is actually pretty cool. I enjoy Welcome To The Real World (which features Broken Wings, but also Is It Love and Kyrie, all excellent) in its entirety. I was probably at that show! I saw them in 1990 in London's Dome and every year after that. Although I kind of agree that their music fell way short; those first 4 shows, when they had incredible special effects including a baby being born out of the woman's belly, a sword slicing the head off a cop with a head like a pig and the cavemen with spiky cocks bigger than half their bodies gobbling up the remains and the giant dinosaur were mind-blowing. People would scream like banshees for the first 15 mis.-Some just in joy and others(1st-timers) in horror from being sprayed with gallons of blood, guts and brains. At that moment in time they were the most fun you could have at a Rock concert, regardless of the music.

I loved Slayer and Guns and Roses as well. Say what you like they all ran their own race unlike so many PRODUCT bands. But everyone should like what they like. KYUSS were great as well IHMO. Much better than KISS and Iron Maiden even if those guys can play. There first two albums with Di Anno were good after that it was 12 year olds music and just more of same but lamer. Same with AC/DC. @@vladdrakul7851 Nirvana took much more from metal than some people think. Kurt basically took some energy of punk, some noise and thrash metal and some freaking light acoustic Beatles, mixed it all and there you go. Everybody knows that Come As You Are is a borrowed riff but not enough prople know that Smells Like Teen Spirit is exact reversed riff played in the same rythmic pattern as Venom's Countess Bathory. I actually think Stone Temple Pilots was one of the best bands from that era. Plush alone is such a masterpiece. I guess the choices I disagree with the most are Def Leppard and Pantera, only because the song choices are so similar to a lot of other songs those bands have done and I dont really understand what sets those ones apart. Its all a matter of opinion though. This is such a hard one because there aren't many bands that I actually *hate*, and the ones I do I don't have any songs I actually like from them... For some reason Anthrax is a band Ive never really been able to enjoy. I don't think they deserved to be in the big 4 actually, but I do love their song 'Got The Time'. I hate Ted Nugent but hes got some really good songs. Ill throw 'Stranglehold' in as my second choice as a song I love. Great groove and jamming on that one. Not a huge fan of Prince but I think 'Rasberry Beret' is a good song.

The weird thing is that the guys here are all referring to MTV and KROC blasting Nirvana and Pearl Jam but it wasnt like that at all here in Ireland, us metal fans were just delighted to hear any sort of rock at all on radio or TV, we were delighted to have gigs to go to, we werent saturated with overplay. I consider myself a true metal fan. Grew up in a house in small town Ireland in the 70's and listened to older brothers and sisters LPs. Heard Sabbath, Zeppelin, Quo, Deep Purple, Yes etc etc for years and got in to NWOBHM and Thrash and little bit of Death and lots and lots and lots of Black Metal but I have no problem with Nirvana and Pearl Jam and Sound Garden and Stone Temple PIlots, I was in college back then and I listened to those bands and got shit-faced drunk with my friends and it was a great time. I understand that the early 90's killed a lot of 80's metal bands (to one degree or another) but I have nothing but good positive memories of all those early 90;s grunge bands!!

You nailed it. People who think grunge killed metal are misreading it. What really killed metal was all that watered down '80s pop-metal junk. Grunge was the next generation's reaction to all that crap: back to basics... which is really what grunge was, a return to something that more closely resembled '70s rock/metal/ punk.

"Touch Of Gray"- The Grateful Dead " Learning To Fly "- Pink Floyd " Working Man"- Rush I don't hate these 3 bands but I really don't care for them. Tool, Phish and Nirvana I absolutely despise and have never found anything I like by them.

I love most of the stuff from the first three. But: Tool, didn't like/didn't dislike Phish, disliked from the beginning. Not hated , but there was nothing to draw me in. Nirvana, they had the good sense to go out on top. Assuming everyone was alive, they would have started putting out the exwife needs back alimony/ contractual obligation albums and wouldn't be nearly as popular as they still are.

The new Tool album has a very different atmosphere from their pre-10,000 Days work. I hate Tool, I loved pretty much the whole Fear Inoculum album. Incredible stuff.

@@christopherconard2831 Looking past the fact that Trey is an excellent guitarist, Phish is nothing more than a bunch of Grateful Dead wannabees.

I love them too but not really into that song either, it's okay but I prefer their rockier or more moody and atmospheric songs.

Here To Stay is great for when you're in the mood for something twisted and unsettling. That song is a snarling beast.
