Amy Lee has said she helped write this when she was in an abusive relationship. She was out to lunch with a friend and he noticed she was not okay, and she hadn’t even mentioned what she was going through. He could just tell. That’s when she wrote the first lines “how can you see into my eyes like open doors?” Fun fact- she got out of the abusive relationship and married the guy she went to that lunch with 😊

My Immortal, Lithium, Call Me When You're Sober, Going Under, Lost in Paradise... and you will still be only scratching the surface. The male vocalist is just a guest vocalist for this one song. Amy Lee is the lead vocalist and has one of the most powerful voices in Rock.

In my opinion this was the beggining and ascending of Amy Lee Career, i remember i was a mid teen around 14yo when this started to appear on TV and many ppl were listening to it, also i remember being associated to the DareDevil Soundtrack Movie that was released back then, Amy Lee is still awesome in this Generation😄

_My Immortal_ _Lithium_ _Call Me When You're Sober_ _My Heart is Broken_ _My Immortal_ is her signature song IMHO, but _Lithium_ gets under your skin. But they're all roller coasters - she doesn't waste time hitting you between the eyeballs. Not superficial and you have to pay attention to the lyrics.

Yep, Amy Lee can sing with the best of them! If you really want to get out of your comfort zone... check out any major hit from the Eagles: Hotel California, Lyin' Eyes, Take It Easy, I Can't Tell You Why, etc... I will bet money you'll recognize those songs from commercials, tv shows, movies.. so on.

It's actually very easy to have never heard of most of this music, because what we heard growing up depends on what our parents listened to, what your friends listened to, and what is on the radio or, these days, one's "Spotify" recommendations list. if you're thinking of getting into more "ROCK", I'd STRONGLY recommend BAND-MAID (AKA BANDMAID) - perhaps their live "HATE?" performance for starters, many start with that, but anything would do - NOTE, while they call themselves a "hard rock" band, they have a LOT of genres influencing their music! Perhaps the 'Manners" and "Black Hole" for their funkier and more "metal" influences, repectively, too?

Amy lee you could hand her the phone book and have her sing the ws and it be the most beautiful thung you ever heard amy wrote this at 19 about a bad break up
@MooreCEJr3 ай бұрын
This song was actually written about her now-husband. Amy had been in a really bad, abusive relationship, which had been very difficult for a long time.Amy thought that she was doing a pretty good job of pretending to be OK, but Josh [Hartzler, Amy’s husband], this guy that Amy didn’t know really well but she liked a lot, we went into a restaurant while the band members were parking the car. When they sat down, he looked at her right in the eyes, and said, ‘Are you happy?’ It just caught her really off guard. Amy felt very exposed, but it felt good at the same time - like he could see her. ‘How can you see into my eyes like open doors?’”
