You have to understand that RM has an IQ of 148. His word play is legendary. Every word has a meaning. He'll use the same word in six or seven different ways with different meanings. For example, you should watch the rap song, "DDaeng" then watch the explanation of that MV by DKDK (a Korean explaining the meaning of the MV). You will then understand the depth of meaning to RM's words.

JOKE WAS A DISS TRACK lol. If you read the lyrics they're very scattered and there's no real consistent theme. But that was his point, some rappers told him that he basically sucked and his rap didn't have "speed" which is what they believed was most important over RM's thoughtful lyrical flow (because he believes those rappers just spout nonsense). So he made this to get back at them! His raps got hella speed and it's basically a rap to show them that he can beat them at their own game any day he wants. The nonsense lyrics is just him teasing how they rap, sort of like "look at me doing the same thing as you but I'm doing it 100x better".

@Alquimista First of all, I am a big fan of RM’s Joke. It’s just fantastic. His rap is simply that of out of this world. And I meant this song doesn’t have deep meaning compared to most of the songs he wrote be it from BTS’ album or his mixtapes RM and Mono. If I wasn’t clear with that, it’s my bad. I said it because in an interview following the release of the mixtape ‘RM’ where this song was in it he himself said that he wrote the lyrics of Joke whatever that came up to his mind and the song doesn’t have any hidden meaning and that the words in these lyrics were meant to show the image of the each word that has, to rhyme and to best suit to show his flow to flex his rap skill. And lyrics are not necessarily logical although lyrics aren’t entirely meaningless. In the song there is a lyric saying” this is just a meaningless wordplay”. The bottom line: the lyrics in this song are not as organic or having deep meaning as other RM’s works do. A reviewer compared it to a sculpture of a surrealist. how dare would I intend to belittle our president RM’s work?! I hope you understand what I wanted to say..

I get it, flow is important. Yes. But you are missing out big time. RM writes with purpose. That is why this is a joke, because he can beat them at their own game anytime, anywhere, the game being rhyme and flow. He wrote this seemingly meaningless word cluster that rymes to make a joke out of all who priorities flow and forcing rhyme over poetry. That is the reason the beat is heavy, and he is acting crazy. You should check out his mixtape on soundcloud. BTS was originally supposed to be a hip hop group. They changed the concept some and have done amazing. RM has been able to experiment with different styles, but his true love is hip hop. It causes him some internal conflict not feeling he can nurture it like he wants to, though he loves what he does now. To truly understand him, you've got to hear his mixtape under "rapmonster".
