Without 50 and the second generation of gangster rap, we wouldn’t have trap and drill stars being arrested for mass murder rn. Or that kind of music being pushed atm in general. Everything has a cause and effect, there’s no independent artist anymore.

I’m his fan and so is my son. I sat him down and told him: this man likely suffered a violent childhood, he led a violent life, and he died a violent death. He was self aware and we love his music. You have to be self aware and understand your own values and decide for yourself, is this something I want to put inside my mind? In the end we decided to celebrate his work knowing that he suffered emotionally for the terrible things that he’d done and we hope that he’s gone home with his maker.
