I wish Eagles would allow more reactions. They really are a great group, not a bad song and really nothing that doesn't take me back to my youth. They wrote great lyrics. They were using each other. He wanted arm candy - she wanted security of money. Both ended up feeling empty.

I was 20 when "Lyin' Eyes" came out, and hearing this song and other Eagles' songs that came out around that time absolutely transports me back to those days in a heartbeat! There were SO MANY great songs then and a lot of them were by the Eagles! I appreciate you reacting to them, especially when they make it so hard for reactors to do so. I love this song so much, one of the most beautiful by Eagles. Glen's voice is just wonderful and the fantastic guitar from Don, the harmony and especially the high notes from Randy. An absolutely wonderful song. And they have so much more, everyone in the band could sing and play different instruments, absolute talents. And they were so good live.

I used to think this song was my life when I was married, until the cheating part came in the song. I was arm candy, he was cold. He cheated, I cried. I finally got up the courage to leave the million dollar lifestyle and go it alone with the kids and the dog. Years of struggles later, I'm still happily divorced for 33 years, with wonderful kids and grandkids. The ex died of a heart attack 20 years ago.
