Stan, much like Annie Wilkes from Stephen King's Misery, shows the crazy side within the fandom universe. Within said universe, you have the more emotionally and mentally stable fans and then...you have people like Stan or Annie Wilkes. Kim is way more chilling than Stan. Don’t you think that when he paints a picture so vividly and raw that even the explicit version has to exclude the content it says enough in itself. In Kim you can hear the anger and frustration in his voice, granted Stan portrays such as well...it doesn’t even nearly amount to Kim, so why put what you did as no.2 where his voice could be described in a monotone matter, you don’t get the same emotions from Shady there. I understand this is more opinionated but it could be greatly revised, not just top 3
@diothethotslayer14516 жыл бұрын
Yea but i think bonnie and Clyde is worse cause hes acting so calm after the fact of murdering his girlfriend

I have always thought that "My Fault" managed to mix an eerie balance of intense recklessness in the opening and a tragic conclusion. Em's ephemeral morality, initially self focused motives, and natural human responses resonates well with most by the climax. The potent mushrooms also boost the intensity of the song. This ever growing doom builds to an absolutely chilling, hopeless, ending. Few songs have had this sort of cautionary fear, which allows him to use tone and perspective to drive in the emotional impact he produces here

What do you think about My darling, Music box and Stay wide awake? I thought they were pretty solid contenders for this list :P

In my opinion, I totally think the original version of "My Name Is" shoulda made it onto this list. How can it not with a line like "Extra-terrestrial, killin' pedestrians. Rapin' lesians while they're screamin' 'Let's just be friends' "

I wouldn't say dancing was meant to be portrayed as innocuous, rather an art: something that is often perceived as beautiful. He is saying that he treasures the "Song and Dance" rather than devaluing the last moments of human life. He values taking it and watching the struggle.

Dude remember the little kid from the "Stan" vid? That's who it is, wow... that kid came in handy

He just said Stan wouldn't be in it because it's too obvious.

Gotta say, Kim takes the cake in my eyes. While other songs may have had a more casually twisted approach, nothing can quite wrench your gut the way Kim can. I watched your other video on horrific rap songs, and saw that you ended with (Summarizing for spectator's sake) I.T: DWTD and I'd honestly say that I can't decide which one is hits home harder. Thankfully, your theatrical voice for these videos distracts from the tormenting nature of the songs listed. In baseball metaphors, you've got more than a collection of base hits on your compilations. My next course of action is to check your profile for MC's of a more uplifting nature. Fingers crossed for some Gang Starr, Talib, Rakim, KRS and more. Maybe I'll even get lucky and find some Big L, Nappy Roots, Jurassic 5, Planet Asia, Mos Def... No mas palabras...

Fun fact, you know that song "Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang? They get referenced in The Real Slim Shady. Believe it or not they had a couple of more hits, including their follow up single for Bad Touch, The Ballad Of Chasey Lain. It's about a fan of real life pornstar Chasey Lain, the guy send letters to her but as she doesn't reply the letters get progressively more aggressive until things kinda get out of control... this song was released one year before Stan

The first time I heard Kim I would skip through it afterwards. Then when I re-listened when I got older, I realized how amazing and horrible it is at the same time.

Deja Vu deserves to be on this list because of the reality of it. Sure, the other songs are more over the top with their horror, but the scariest thing is the reality of life.

My darling is more of a dive into his own psyche, it's not so much of a sadistic out pour of violence. It's more of a capitalization upon his own demons as he's detoxing off all the drugs he's done

You know what should've been included? That song where Em gives a girl mushroom. The almost light-hearted beat adds stark contrast to what's actually happening.

I just can't feel the gut wrenching-ness in Kim because the song's plot reminds me way too much of an Onision book, and that just takes away any menace in that was in the song to begin with.
