Love this Douglas! Listening to the SD40s and watching the train rock and roll over jointed rail…a step back in time! I’ve got to get down there sometime.

Good video! I spend a lot of time in the Hills and it never fails that when I spot one of the RCP&E runs, I'm heading somewhere in a hurry. LOL

Nice selection of weathered hoppers in that train. The old blue hopper @4:20 was worth a photo!

I could only imagine what it would be like to have those tracks upgraded for 70 mph running. I know it’s not possible to go that fast in some places but it would be nice to see full throttle SD40-2s at high speed. It’s a shame those old beasts don’t have A/C.

If you’re standing along the tracks in Elk River MN under the right circumstances with the right throttle jockey, BNSF can come pretty close.

Thanks for taking the trip to capture these. Put some new shortline paint on them and they look like thoroughly modern power. It’s beautiful country but the water will straighten your hair.

Each year I try and head west, and the Rapid City area is a must for me. There is so much to do, see, and experience out here. The Belle Turn is a fun, easy chase, that also usually runs in good light. Thanks for watching!

That was a cool chase, and some great vantage points. How far did you follow the train? Just at the end of the video, that was a bad wet spot pumping mud. Not good for rails or stability. Could do with some TLC. Great video, thank you 😀😀 👍👍

Thx. Was that a bridge structure over the track st 8:02?
@SD4575002 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, and watching! Yes, thats a bridge down the tracks, and a pretty neat looking one at that.
