Back when the line was announced, I thought and hoped that it would be more bloodborne like, with the gothic Victorian setting, but after seeing the skinline I am extremely happy with this skinline, and happy with the direction they went with

the thing with going for the victorian setting the recent highnoon skins are exploring a somewhat victorian style (Leona, Twitch, and Viktor). If this skins would be victorian like the recent highnoon then some people might say its like the highnoon skins. Though a bloodborne aesthetic on champs like trundle, urgot, and naut would be really cool too.

I do feel that something of like an eldritch gothic or bloodborne style should be a different skinline. The old gothic annie and goth orianna are two diff styles of gothic and i guess they sticked closed to old gothic annie's theme more instead of oriania's which is like romantic gothic i think?

it's def one side of the gothic subculture but i think a lot of people expected more... modern fashion skins as opposed to tim burton. Like doll up some champs in full gothic outfits and give them spooky particles. personally i hoped for pastel goth + trad goth to be the fashion choices but alas. Still great skins, the only one who i think is off is Trundle. Def shoulda gone to warwick or sett, hell even nasus.

This isn't what was originally presented though even if goths appreciate Tim Burton the theme itself is different from what the voted theme. This wasn't "oh they said we would get goth skins and we got Tim Burton skins that aren't goth" this is "we voted for the current goth skinning to get more love and they gave us a different skinline"

it's gothic sub genre called gothic suburbia (like stated in video) it's like saying Diablo is 100% RPG ... it is but it's better described as an action RPG or Hack and Slash so you don't create confusion also if gothic style have many sub genre's and making skins in one of those is not really gothic skin line is gothic suburbia skin line is like making a six new candy fruit flavors and making them all strawberry

My guess is maybe Amumu was skipped over since he already got Pumpkin Prince earlier, which is a Halloween skin yea but it does still have some gothic elements to it. I agree with you on Gwen though, she would been a great addition. She's a perfect fit for the creepy doll theme.

I think people who complain about “now give us actual gothic skins!” have absolutely no idea about what Gothic actually is; let alone knowing how diverse, broad and old it is and where it takes it’s roots from. I’m suspecting these people ONLY think about sexy girls in dark, frilly dresses with make-up; when you say “Gothic.” Also almost everything Tim Burton does, is filled to the brim with Gothic imagery. That man’s work literally revels in Goth. A perfect media example of 50s to 2000s Gothic aesthetic A skin line that looks like it’s straight out of Burton’s work is a very delightful, true-to-its-tone take on Gothic. And infinitely better than “another skinline with just pretty dresses” with the twist of “but these dresses are dark in colour!”

While I fell into the camp of expecting something different (I was thinking more Victorian Gothic with more corsets and bloodborne-esque styling instead of Urban Gothic), seeing the skins, I like them a lot. Especially since the splash arts really don't do the skins textures justice, and seeing them in motion made me adore them.

I’m so glad that someone finally said it. Goth has various types and Tim Burton IS goth. I feel like people were looking for punk goth instead but these are beautiful and in my opinion, better. I should also mention that the genre is something I’ve been in since middle school if not longer, and it made me genuinely happy seeing these skins.

I'm hoping with a revamped Gothic skinline when they return to this they'll explore different styles of Gothic, of course I'd love new Fright Night but as you said theres just so many different styles to the "gothic" aesthetic seeing Riot put their spin on something ridiculous like Cyber Goth would just be hilarious IMO. 10/10 revamp

I adore the fact that urgot's legs in this skins are very similar to old urgot's legs. This skinline is fantastic and a great departure from the million of mecha inspired skins there were in the recent months. I hope it stays, so many champions are a perfect fit for this! Imagine a FN gwen going fully into the creepy doll aesthethic, a FN vex with shadow having those sketchy effects or a FN bel veth pretending to be an ugly witch. Heck, a lot of monster champions would be heavily benefited with this skinline!

This skin line is SO GOOD imo. Urgot is just Oogie-Boogie but still one of my favorite skin designs. Renata's looks great in my opinion. Draven and Nautilus are very cool too The only one I'm not a huge fan of is Trundle but I still think it looks good and fits him well.

One thing that fright night skin revealed is that, on twitter, generally when a skin line releases, artists give their on rendition of their favorite champion on this skinline, and almost every fan concept is just Renata suit on someone else, i remember that i saw one for Zyra and it was just Renata suit with blood tentacles, the blood part is cool and could lead to a Carrie/Corpse Bridge Zyra, but people just want their best concept of a skin line on their favorite champion instead of something new and creative

This skin line is absolutely amazing. I actually had no clue until this video that they were supposed to be the revamp to the gothic skin line. I really hope it's something that continues and isn't just a 1 time thing to just make a new gothic skinline. I sadly barely play any of the champs in this skinline and would love it to go on long enough that one of my favorite champs does get a skin here. I absolutely adore everything about the skinline :)

I love these skins so even if they arent the halloween skins, they work for Halloween. Additionally bewitching is awesome. Its cute goofy spooky fun and mixed in with the count skins and other random traditional halloween color and design skins. Tristana, mf, poppy, yuumi and syndra being the best ones.

This has to be. One of if not my most favorite skin line in this whole game. If not all games if I’m being frank. Every year has been pretty lack luster for Halloween skins and I always felt like they can do more. But this skin line truly did so much for me. Reminds me of animated Halloween movies with multiple references to horror in general. It is pretty gothic but I see why some people don’t like it but honestly. I much rather prefer this skin line over a gothic one anyway. Also. To be honest. Who the fuck even used the goth skin anyway. In my 4-5 years of playing I haven’t seen that skin used or even mentioned.

I think Riot should do more concepts like this rather than revisit old skin lines, it seems that when the design team has full creative control of what's coming rather than fitting into a mold crafted in the past, they make absolute banger skin lines (Fright Night vs Star Guardian [Tho tbf Akali was a bussin Star Guardian but it still felt like the rest of the skins had to fit a mold])

I will say it's not like Fright Night are bad versions of a gothic skinline just that Fright night shouldn't become the definitive versions of gothic skins. Because this is an amazing skinline that I would love to see again but the original gothic skins fell short of their potential and whilst Fright Night is amazing it doesn't capture the same thing the original skins were going for. Take Wild Rift's Gothic Orianna it took the mess of the PC version and made a really good reimagining had Wild Rift gone for a Fright Nights take it would have been good but less of a reimagining more of a restart that's the critique

The Fright Night skins line up with Space Groove for some of my favourite skin lines of all time - when Riot actually lets their team DO SOMETHING INTERESTING!!
