“Billy is really good at recognizing talent before most.” That’s ludicrous. Is there a shred of evidence to support that hypothesis? The only evidence of someone’s acumen at talent evaluation is in a game. Not practice or talking about how good someone is. The evidence is that the Gators are a poor team with a losing record under Napier. They have won only one game against their rivals, Tennessee. The data shows something quite opposite of your hypothesis. Napier can’t even take advantage of talent given him on a silver platter. Six Gators were drafted after “Sun Belt” Billy’s first season. Of all the colleges that had at least that many drafted, there was only one who had a losing record. He even had the 4th overall pick in the draft at QB and coached him into mediocrity. Is there a shred of evidence that the “Great White Hope” of the Gator program right now, DJ Lagway is going to be coached any better? This idea that “Sun Belt” Billy is an astute evaluator of talent is a myth. Either that or he’s a very poor developer of talent. I’m from Missouri. Show me, don’t talk a lot of B.S.

Thanks for the Saturday recruiting content. It appears that the current OL talent acquisition strategy is to sign lower rated HS prospect who fit a specific physical profile for long term development and to use the portal for plug and play starters. Is that what you see???
