Hi Richard, This is the loco that has seen some problems with glue marks etc so yours is no different added to which you did have a bit missing but it is a very nice looking model and on your layout ran great and sounded good also so as you said worth a look but the price is a bit steep for this size of loco but I think you could say unlike most small engines of this type the valve gear is far more complicated than on them and this must make making them harder. A very nice video so thank you for showing us this and putting it through its paces well done. Cheers Robert.

Great review super loco with excellent sound and a great layout.I think the sound file was done by Digitrains.Jenny Kirk did a review of the 15xx and mentioned something about the rear wheel having a a sensorvtobdo wilthbchuffsxif you look at your rear wheels you shouldcsee it.Apparenly it counts the rotation to the chuffs to give you an authentic chuff per rotation.I think the loco looks very well made and reliable but great review

Nice looking model. Thanks for the video. I do agree with you about the easily visible firebox glow. And think the auto function is pretty cool. Regarding the sound, correct me if I’m wrong but I think most steam locos have four chuffs per revolution, and this looked pretty good in that respect to me.

I stand corrected, you're right about the 4 chuffs per revolution. Seems I need to go back and change some of my sound fitted steamers 😂

I've now updated the description with the new values I used to get 4 chuffs per rotation.

And now i'm changing it again 😂, I reset the speed steps to the factory ones and then finessed CVs 57 and 58. Seems from the factory it's closer to 5 chuffs per revolution.

To be honest from the video all I could see was it looked "good enough"... ie. pretty close to 4 chuffs per revolution as opposed to 2 chuffs which would be clearly visible / audible... I'm not so sure the 15xx is appropriate for my layout / era / region otherwise I'd be very tempted to get one (I may do anyway). Thanks again for your great review. Keep up the good work!

You just need to remember TWO Chuffs Per Cylinder per Revolution.

Try switching the sound Off (F1) when model is running...reduce speed then press F1. If that fails, reduce speed to zero and press F1 whilst model is slowing...then readjust/increase the speed.... Just purchased two £105.00 each. Like all new models too highly priced. Accurascale Manor badly let down by a Crap motor and not much better is the Hornby 2MT, neither will pull the skin of the skin off a rice pudding!
