When I teach this, I say the theme is: It's saturday night, and after a heavy night of drinking, you try to climb the steps to your lot, massively wasted. You can try to rush up fast, but you may stumble down, or you can try to steadily crawl up the stairs, step by step.

I have the older edition Excape. You made me buy Rapido also. I believe you have made me buy like 10 games so far 🙂 My favourite push-your-luck dice game is Claim It! It got area majority. Criminally underrated at BGG.

You're not alone... My girlfriend accused me of having a secret desire to copy Dan's collection :) . I've purchased a ton of games that I saw on this channel, with no disappointments so far.

Thanks for this recommendation! Looks fun. A little more "boardgame" going on, while maybe a little less "push your luck" involved. Can a 3 player game finish in 30 minutes? 45-1hr might stretch things a bit too long.

Nice! This is a quick push-your-luck Knizia GEM of a game, and a blast to play! It's been years since I played Exxtra, but have fond memories. Has there been a change of rules since Exxtra?

For a Dr Knizia dice chucker, I'd rather play two of his older designs instead of Rapido/Excape (which I don't own) - Sudoku Das Wurfelspiel Keltis Das Wurfelspiel Separately, Dr Knizia has designed a variety of Sudoku-based games and I like Duell Der Meister the best.

Does the game devolve into players having to sacrifice their turns basically to stop the leader and thereby helping the next player in turn? The Game of 49 did that and it ruined the game for me.

Sometimes you can be forced to do that but you can progress yourself by rolling doubles in the process. This is also much faster than 49

If in my turn - first I rolls a “41”, then a double “22” in my second turn so I advance my counter by 2 spaces. I re-roll again obtaining another double ”33" - in such a case, should I advance one more space on the track or no advancement possible once I have moved 2 space earlier?

You instantly move the additional steps so you can end up going quickly if you roll a lot of doubles.

That double X first roll is the best roll possible as it allows you to place your piece on an empty track space and bump all other player pieces off the track.
