I got two, a BN green unit, and a BN (ex-NP) patch unit. Both units look and sound great, but a few issues I had: - the grab irons on the side of the short hood are NOT tightly attached, and the packaging has a tendency to squeeze them. Fortunately I found mine and glued them back in. I also modified the blister pack (cut out the plastic around this area) to avoid squeezing them again and losing more parts. - the axle bushings developed a squeal very quickly. Some Labelle 107 took care of this. - be sure to let them run a bit to break in. Mine sounded terrible (the gearing, not the speaker) when I first started running them but this ironed itself out. - they did not run the same speed, but messing with the speed trim in ESU lokprogrammer (and turning off acceleration) should help with this a lot. I changed my front couplers to be scale head, but this is personal preference. The default couplers are nice, just chunky.

@@jlwii2000 hi , I've watch your video's on loco reviews , I have been an N scaler for decades , but now Changing into HO shelf layout , as eyes aren't what the used to be .. , my question being , for reliability and slow performance ( as I'm mainly into switching) what in your opinion is the best manufacturer for the above.. I've heard more horror stories about Rapido not working even out of the box , I was about buy but after all the stories I'm now shy of buying... I'm sure you have lots of locos an runtime on them. Thanks much , cheers !
