Picture the scene: It's 2020, I'm sitting in bed browsing KZbin, my 2014 potato rapid strike by my side, looking for some sick mods. Thanks - been looking for a while for a good, simple, mod tutorial. Also, what's the range on that thing?

Nice tutorial but it seems like you have to take the gun apart to switch out the batteries
@yazadpardiwala6876 жыл бұрын
I think thats why he recommended the stock and original battery compartment as areas to keep the batteries. The battery compartment is pretty dang easy to acces, and If you used excess wire you could make it possible to remove the container out of the blaster just enough to load it without a full dissasembly. As for the stock, while a full dissasembly is unavoidable, he did show that it was pretty dang easy to remove.

Nice work making this tutorial. It was very well put together and easy to follow. I especially liked how you relocated the new battery packs to both the front grip and the stock in order to balance the weight, and the spring loaded jam door was pretty cool.

What is the most simple mod I could do on a Rapidstrike while keeping the same batteries?
@yazadpardiwala6876 жыл бұрын
thank you so much. Not sure if i have a lemon or if guns are to be unerpowered in my region, but my rapidstrike is a genuine potato. I have been looking to mod it for a few months, but every guide I found involved kits and lipos crap that costed more than the base blaster(my family ARE NOT tech heads, so I had to buy things as basic as a flippin soldering iron. Not expensive, but as a fourteen year old, thats more than a quarter of my budget) This on the other hand, just a nine volt AA container and snippets of wire. This was what I was looking for. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this.

Very nice tutorial. Nice steady pace and very clear.

Nice vid. I like that you used hand tools an average kid could access. And made it simple. The jam door mod was cool. Nice work I always shout you out.

@Deathunder theHood Not at the moment. I'm tooling up for more homemade type production as we speak... but this type of mod is pretty easy to do.

As much as i do wish you'd do a stryfe tutorial this tutorial is really helpful. I think i might mod my rapidstrike thank you! :D

Will a box with only wire work... i mean my box doesnt have the 9v connector only wire coming out from the box black and red
@Lunas252510 жыл бұрын
You could have removed the old battery box by removing the two screws on the front of the box. And tossing a lipo in that spot is better anyway.

Does the clear rubbery piece by the motor have to be there? Does it affect performance
@backsflip24425 жыл бұрын
It’s doesn’t have to be there, it also lowers FPS if it’s there

Great tutorial, though when I use my over-volted rapidstrike the dart pusher continues to actuate even after releasing the trigger, do you know what this is caused by?.
@archangel201410 жыл бұрын
Hmm, the dart advance arm is actuated by an arm in the trigger assembly. Look at 2:42 to 3:20 to see this in action. The little electrical switch inside the assembly may be broken, I've been hearing a lot about defects in Rapdistrikes. Try firing the blaster while disassembled to troubleshoot.

Hey I cant open my blaster because of a stripped screw :( Its located next to the magazine lock, any suggestions of how I could take it out?
@archangel201410 жыл бұрын
Cut a little piece of a rubber band. Stick it over the screw head. The pressure of pushing the screwdriver into the screw will force the rubber to expand into the cavity. Use a larger screwdriver next time to avoid stripping.

archangel2014 I just drilled it out now, ive upgraded it to 18 volts and added a switch to chose if you want 9V of power or 18V of power. Do you recommend using 9 volt batteries, and should i keep the motor PCB and resistors in?
@archangel201410 жыл бұрын
Personally, I choose to keep them in but if you look around a lot of people take them out. 9V will work if you are space-limited, but they tend to drain pretty quickly and are very temperature sensitive. Use 'em if you want but typically I run AA alkalines.

archangel2014 Thanks.
@ssgt36209 жыл бұрын
killer11843 There aren't any resistors. Also, 9V PP3 batteries are just 6 AAAA cells (yep, there's a size smaller than AAA) linked together making them hopeless for motor applications. Aeromech Just FYI, those yellow components aren't capacitors, they're PTC thermistors (essentially a resettable fuse). The suppression caps are tiny little components on the PCB itself. You might as well keep the caps as long you don't go over the dielectric breakdown voltage (they do indeed reduce electrical "noise"), you can keep the inductors if you want (they can help although the inductors in the Rapidstrike are particularly crappy) but there isn't any need to keep the PTCs (there are more than one in the blaster). At higher currents they heat up and increase their resistance. They're basically there to prevent people overvolting the blaster (since a higher voltage will mean the motors draw more current). If you've got batteries in the stock (although I'd always advise a LiPo or IMR cells over almost any other AA/14500 size cell) you could make the stock removeable. You just need to remove the metal pin and shave down the retention latches on the grey portion of the stock. You can then use the orange button on the stock to release it and change the batteries.
