It’s a shame that because of her substance-abuse history a lot of people assumed that she died of a drug overdose. However, that is not true. She had been clean for quite a while, but decided to get really drunk and she ultimately died of alcohol poisoning. She battled bulimia and at time of her death her brother said he thinks her body was just so frail and weak that it couldn’t take it.

Amy’s dad was seen a lot when she was famous. Plus after she died bless him it was heartbreaking to see him. No parent should bury a child. It’s a case study in what “yes men” will do to you. Her father famously allowed the label to convince him to convince her to keep going and not get the help she needed. She was crying for help. Rehab was an ironic song because it was an addict that wrote it and she even spelled it out in the lyrics, “…and my daddy says I’m fine…”. Valerie is my favorite song by her and Mark Ronson did a bangin’ video after she passed with her vocals on the track.

Yeah my vote would be for Valerie acoustic version. She left us too soon and often wonder what more she would have brought to the table. We can only cherish what she left behind. RIP Amy.

Her entire catalogue is amazing….she was burying her heart. They cut that bit out where it says on the headstone at the end

I was going through a severe mental breakdown and Amy died. I’m Irish so knew of her a long time. I got through my horrific time but I still think always of poor Amy. She was talent. ❤️

Just two albums, Frank, and Back To Black. In which she lays her love life out for all to see. Each relationship makes her feel more and more like trash. But all the songs are beautiful. "Take the Box" from the first album is my personal favourite. Then "Love is a losing game" from the second.
