It’s a shame that because of her substance-abuse history a lot of people assumed that she died of a drug overdose. However, that is not true. She had been clean for quite a while, but decided to get really drunk and she ultimately died of alcohol poisoning. She battled bulimia and at time of her death her brother said he thinks her body was just so frail and weak that it couldn’t take it.

@@barbaramelville337 She had Cirrhosis of the liver and had been warned if she drunk again it would kill her. The only alcohol was found in her system. As her brother said she had bulimia and started drinking after her grandmother, the same woman in her tattoo, died when she was 13, 1997. I think she committed suicide. She was on meds for alcohol rejection and being hounded 24/ 7 by the British press; think Megan Markle's experience but worse. Also her dead beat dad was trying to get more money off her by making her do those tours. RIP Bella Amy.

Yes, you are right...she said it. Honestly, every time I hear Amy's voice I get a little sad...sad for what could have been. She was magnificent, both in her lyrics and her music. I still remember the day she died I was on my way to work and heard about her death on the car radio. It was such a shock and I thought about her all that day. Such a magnificent body of work in such a short time. Gone too soon...RIP, Amy!

Amy was amazing. Her drug & alcohol addiction was sadly her downfall. She was with this fella who they say influenced her a lot in the drugs & drink. Amy went to school with Adele & other singers & actors famous here in the UK. I was lucky to see Amy live in concert it was amazing! Amy was English born in London to a Jewish father & Christian mum. Amy’s dad was seen a lot when she was famous. Plus after she died bless him it was heartbreaking to see him. No parent should bury a child. Amy was extremely talented but she never realised how talented & amazing she was. She had so many insecurities it was heartbreaking. Rest peacefully Amy. Always loved never forgotten xx

In the original music video, the camera panned to the headstone which read, "R.I.P. the Heart of Amy Winehouse". The scene was edited out after she died. Somewhere I have that original video that I downloaded when the song was first released in 2007. I was mesmerized by the video and song. I miss her so.

Every time I hear this song I can feel this amazing artists pain.. her eyes in her video portrays her sorrow & she sings about her life with such raw emotion, it’s difficult not to feel it, whether you’re an empathetic type of person or not. I guess it’s subjective to what we believe she is burying… but to me it’s her broken heart 💔 I too believe she was taken far too young & had so much more talent to share with the world. It’s a case study in what “yes men” will do to you. Her father famously allowed the label to convince him to convince her to keep going and not get the help she needed. She was crying for help. Rehab was an ironic song because it was an addict that wrote it and she even spelled it out in the lyrics, “…and my daddy says I’m fine…”. Valerie is my favorite song by her and Mark Ronson did a bangin’ video after she passed with her vocals on the track.
