Roger Taylor actually wrote this song about his life, but when Freddie did it the song took on a whole new meaning. This was the last video Freddie did. His foot was so bad he had a lot of trouble walking and he was in a lot of pain.

I went to the exhibition of Freddie's stuff in London last year and one of the most heartbreaking things was seeing this outfit but also the fact that one of the shoes had no laces. This was to relieve the pressure on that foot. So sad

Brian said he had a ulcer that covered the whole top of his foot. I've got a ulcer that's only about a inch long, and I can barely walk, so God only knows how Freddie was even able to stand up at that point. The guy is a pure inspiration imho.@@new_mercury5367

Perfect song recommendation if you want to see someone holding back tears for the whole length of the video. I've seen it about 100 times, and it gets me every single time, and I'm normally the guy at the funeral who feels guilty for not crying, but seeing highlights of Freddie while the band sing about missing him is really heartbreaking.

Freddie had lost half of his foot at this time and had no body weight. Clothing on his body hurt very badly. Dianna Moslley, his seamstress made soft clothing for him to wear underneath. This man had /has Thee most Beautiful Soul ever created. There will never be anyone that could . come close. Aides ravaged him from the inside out and he never gave up. Roger lost a part of his soul when our Freddie passed. They all did .

Freddie’s bravery here, and in continuing to record as his life drew to a close, is inspiring me to be brave as I battle Stage 4 Endometrial Cancer… every time I start to worry or stress (or as I suffer the side effects of the chemo), I think of the incredible strength Our Freddie showed. Our boys Brian, Roger and John circled the wagons to protect and cherish Freddie in these last days - at his request, they kept writing more and more lyrics for him to sing and record… to keep him occupied with the music that gave him such joy, and for him to leave as many recorded vocals for the guys to add the instruments… after… 😢

There is a great documentary of Queen called Days of Our Lives. It tells the real story of the band with interviews from band members and employees and friends. I highly recommend it! Love this song. One of Roger's best. He was initially writing to his kids about his life but knew with Freddie dying it would take on another meaning. Freddie knew this would be his last video and said goodbye to his fans with the "I still love you " at the end. Absolutely heartbreaking. Show Must Go On is the last song on Innuendo and is one of Brian's best. Give it a listen as well! 👑

There's a few clips on YT about the making of this video. You remember seeing Freddie jumping around, running all over the stage, and just actively engaging. In the making of clips, he is hobbling. He could barely walk! I can't watch this video without crying, and the making of video, I can't STOP crying. It's absolutely heartbreaking. By the way, the black & white was their attempt to hide Freddie's lesions (Kaposi Sarcomas, the spots on an AIDS patient's body). Their entire Innuendo album was made to be abstract as a way of hiding his illness. Back then, admitting you had AIDS ruined EVERYTHING. People boycotted basketball when Magic Johnson admitted his diagnosis, Ryan White's family received death threats, and Freddie didn't want the same to happen to the rest of the band or his family.

He knew that this video was his last and he wanted to say goodbye to his fans. At the last scene he bowed his head and laughed (as wanted to say Yes I was a big star but don't take it too serious), then he gave us his final look, whispered I STILL LOVE YOU and left the sceen and exited life ... 💔

It was an unexpected appearance because Freddie was sick and they we're not planning on being there. Queen walked onto the stage, and took control of a world wide audience for over 20 minutes. His last live performance and this is his goodbye to the world. 😢😢😢RIP FREDDIE! Still moves my heart 4 decades later.

Another video Freddy did a little earlier, when he was experiencing the physical effects of his disease, was "I'm going slightly mad". They made a fantastic video and Freddy played a character who had a lot of makeup on, as befits the character. But that was to cover up the physical problems. Freddy had said that he will sing anything the guys wrote. His voice was practically the last thing to suffer so he just wanted to keep on singing.

Another beautiful song is one written by Brian May, called "No One But You". Brian May finished writing "No One but You (Only the Good Die Young)" in early 1997, after Queen reformed for a one-off appearance with Elton John at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris. It was dedicated to Mercury and all those who die too soon. This one surely comes with a tissue warning, it's beautiful but heartbreaking.

As a Queen fan, especially Freddie Mercury, I can't help but cry when I watch this video. Freddie's condition is not good here, but the singing ability and the voice that is admired by many are still there. I was even more impressed with Freddie's character because of his honesty and courage to face the challenge of the times. Despite everything, he still thought more about the well-being of his brother in the band and his family. For me, he died but the music he brought will continue to be admired more over time. A true LEGEND!❤👑 Thank you for your great reaction. Hope you can react to "LOVE OF MY LIFE" at Wembley or Rock in Rio. Thanks again and stay safe!🙂

It’s an official video and it’s called Only the good die young. It’s also extremely heartbreaking but such a sweet tribute to their beloved friend. It’s worth a listen.
@sherryheim55046 ай бұрын
Roger wrote this song about watching his kids grow up but because of when it was released, it really feels like it is a reflection on the 20 years the band was together and a bit of melancholy about how it all was coming to an end.Freddie was so sick by this time that he could barely stand and one of his feet had nearly rotted away. But he was a champion, he was brave and above all, he was a legend. He wanted to sing until he no longer could and that is exactly what he did. That vest was custom made by someone and those are pictures of Freddie's cats on it. He left money for them in his Will so that they would be taken care of for the rest of their lives. One of his final movements was stroking one of his cats who was laying on hs bed with him. Freddie does bid goodbye in this song as he wispers "I still love you." at the end. Back then, music came from inside the writer whereas today, we can pretty much tell a computer what we want and it will create it for us. I hope this type of music will never die because it is true art and it is gifted to the individual who in turn gifts it to us.

This was his second to last song. " Mother Love " is a song by Queen, from the album Made in Heaven, released in 1995 after Freddie Mercury 's death in 1991. It was written by Mercury and Brian May. Mercury recorded two out of three verses before becoming too sickly to continue recording, so May recorded the final verse himself later.
