Turning 18 was important for this generation. At 18 we were adults and most of us left out parent's homes and went out on our own. Me and most of the friends I graduated with were married at 18-19. At 17 we were all doing the countdown to what we thought was freedom. Totally not understanding how much more free we were as children!

She has a song with Tom Petty called Stop draggin' my heart around, and a song with Don Henley (Lead singer of Eagles) called Leather and Lace! Both are worth a listen! The goddess Stevie Nicks!!!🥰 She's actually very affectionately known as "the white-witch". Just her stage presence alone has you mesmerized, then she starts singing and BOOM... you're under her spell for life!!!🤗I fell under her spell when I was 6y/o (1977) when FM's "Rhiannon" came on the radio in my mom's car. Stevie's voice is other-worldly!! Keep going with Stevie and of course with her in Fleetwood Mac.... they have an incredible catalogue and quite an "interesting" history together! 😅The amount of drama and relationship "issues" is off-the chain and quite messy, but it made stellar music though!!😜 Great reaction!! Peace and light to all...✌💞 FUN FACT: Stevie Nicks was the FIRST woman to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame TWICE!!! She was inducted first time in 1998 with Fleetwood Mac and then inducted for the second time in 2019 for her solo career (and album "Bella Donna")... speaks volumes to her greatness... just saying!!😁 Check out her solo hit "STAND BACK"... it was her cheeky little response to Prince's "Little Red Corvette" (the lyrics). Even better... Prince wrote the opening synth riff on it for her!👊 You'll hear the inspiration of his "Little Red Corvette" in Stevie's "Stand Back" for sure!! It's incredible...

Edge of Seventeen is about Nicks being with her uncle when he passed away & John Lennon being gunned down. The trauma and grief of the events inspired her to write the song. Also in the Beatles song "I Saw Her Standing There" Well, she was just seventeen, You know what I mean, And the way she looked was way beyond compare. “At Seventeen” by Janis Ian, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" Meat Loaf' Even Frank Sinatra's “It Was A Very Good Year” reflects his romantic encounters beginning at 17. " When I was seventeen. It was a very good year. It was a very good year for small town girls. And soft summer nights".

Stevie Nicks was co-lead singer of Fleetwood Mac. In my opinion, she has one of the best female voices of all time. She has one of those voices when you hear it, you KNOW it’s her. I love everything she sings! And you made a comment about her “angel” outfit. This is the way that she has chosen to dress from early on in her career. She likes that Gypsy look. She’s usually more in black I’d say. Always wearing platform heeled boots to give her some height. She really still looks pretty awesome for her age and still sounds great! She performed with many other groups in her career on certain songs. And I think I had heard that she sold her catalog of her songs/the rights to them for millions. And was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist as well, the FIRST female to do so. She’s still rocking! 🥰💯⭐️🤩🫶🏼🏆🎼❤️🤘🏼

"Edge of Seventeen" is about the deaths of two important people in Stevie's life, one being her uncle which is in the verse about no one left standing in the hallway, and the other being John Lennon, in the verse with the line I'm a few years older than you. She was also dealing with drama within Fleetwood Mac at this time because Stevie's solo album was selling like wildfire! She was only able to do 12 shows for this tour, her first! This performance was from the last night of the tour, and she's so emotional because for one, while she was on this tour, the rest of Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey mainly, was calling her every night, wanting her to get to Paris so they could start recording the next Fleetwood Mac album, which was "Mirage" that featured the song "Gypsy". Lindsey had ripped into her on the phone before this concert, basically wanting her to forget about her solo career and settle with writing 3 or 4 songs every two years or so for a Fleetwood Mac album, and if Lindsey was involved in the production, it was usually more than likely that it would be her tracks that would be cut, like "Silver Springs" being cut from the "Rumours" album! "Bella Donna" shot to number 1 within a matter of weeks! I will definitely say that with both Fleetwood Mac and Stevie's solo work, you are diving into a massive rabbit hole! Stevie has been active music wise since 1973!

My one and only girl crush is on Stevie Nicks. A couple of months ago, I took my grandkids to see her in Little Rock. I was so proud, they knew the words to EVERY song! At 75, she rocked for 3 hrs!!! You should check out Fleetwood Mac w/Stevie singing Silver Springs. It is drama!😉 PS: I like Abba as much as the next person, but please don’t compare Stevie to Abba.

Stevie Nicks was the first female to be elected into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame twice (solo and with Fleetwood Mac). I believe that Tina Turner has more recently and deservedly joined her in this "club."

Stevie said the song was based on a question she asked her grandmother. "When did you meet grandpa?" Those Fleetwood Mac songs all have Stevie Nicks singing. Fleetwood Mac, Rhiannon live to see Miss Nicks spin right off planet.

The 70s was crazy but so much fun, fabulous music, people actually talk to each other and the night clubs nd bars were the place to be for good tunes and bands. We had streetheart, heart and harlequin playing in the bars to name a few. We had the best time, miss those days

Stevie Nicks is standing in front when Fleetwood Mac is on. She went solo after a while in the 80s and had a hit album or two. My husband used to tell me there was only one woman on earth he would leave me for - Stevie Nicks. I said, Well then I have nothing to worry about do I?

She had a mad crush on Tom Petty. She tried to get him to let her join his band. He declined. They were friends. She did “borrow” a tape once from his home. That’s a whole other story. They did a song together in the very early 80’s. 1980 or 1981 I believe. Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks song was Stop Dragging My Heart Around. You might want to check it out. Also fun fact. The reason she wore the big flowing dresses was to not get lost on the stage. She wanted a presence on stage and she was…is a very petite woman.

You should check out Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics story about when he was working with Tom Petty and Stevie showed up. Dave has a one night affair with Stevie and was promptly kicked out in the morning. While working with Petty after this, they came up with "Don't Come Around Here No More" with Stewart providing most of the lyrics IIRC.

@@kallsop2 I know the song but didn’t know the story💞 I’m definitely not surprised. Stevie got around. No shade there. She went for what she wanted same as a man would. She never had kids because she liked her lifestyle and her career. Glad she knew her mind and didn’t have children with the life she led. Good story. Thanks for sharing.

@@Denise-pn1tj Growing up in the 70's I remember the whole Governor Jerry Brown Linda Ronstadt affairs, Carly Simon with Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Warren Beatty, and Warren with everyone. Yeah, I don't do any of the retro shaming, it is what it is, and a lot of normal people had the same type affairs.

@@kallsop2 I’m with you. I don’t understand how people can judge the past by today’s yardstick. Things were entirely different. I’m a first year Gen-X’er. Bossed being a boomer by less than a month. So that gives me a unique perspective. We are entirely different and the people are different now. Honestly I would rather have the people back then before the internet and cell phone. People actually knew how to communicate. It’s sad. I hate that I was partly to blame for the texting craze. I had to learn how to text and to be able to teach people to text before Verizon Wireless rolled it out. I worked telecom and I got to see first hand the effects. Anyway I digress. I agree with you. People were definitely built differently and had their own scandals. I’d rather have those compared to what we have now💞

Stevie is a twice inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame LEGEND! She still tours and still sounds amazing at almost 76 yo. This is my favorite performance of this song that she has ever done. This was her first solo tour away from Fleetwood Mac. This is her band. Her backup singers and the lead guitarist have been with her 45+years. The red headed background singer is her sister-in-law. She has been my idol since I was 13. 41 years of loving this woman! I saw her with FM in 1987 and I saw her again solo in 2016.

Stevie Nicks is a solo artist, but she is part of the group Fleetwood Mac in the 80s and 90s she made a bunch of albums on her own away from Fleetwood Mac. Some people consider her a Gypsy Queen. She sang some of the lead vocals on some of the best Fleetwood Mac songs. The others that sang Lead for Fleetwood Mac are Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie (r.i.p.) the other two members of Fleetwood Mac are John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. She had many good solo albums over the years away from Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood Mac started in the late 60s as a Psychedelic Blues Band before they became commercial radio friendly in the mid 70s. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were an item and they join the band in the early seventies. Along with Christine McVie. The original name of the group was Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac cuz it was started by a guy named Peter Green. He wrote the hit song called Black Magic Woman that was really bluesy and later remade by Carlos Santana into a amazing hit song. There has also been many other people in the group Fleetwood Mac over the years, look on Wikipedia for the history of the band.

Fleetwood Mac was a so-so band in the early 70's. One day Mick Fleetwood heard an album called simply Buckingham Nicks (the first album put out by Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks). Mick was blown away by the guitar work by Buckingham and offered Lindsey a job joining his Fleetwod Mac group. Buckingham said he would join Fleetwood only if he agreed to include Stevie Nicks in the deal. Once the new Fleetwood Mac began they rocketed to Mega-stardom with the Rumours album. The original Buckingham Nicks album had poor sales due to inadequate marketing. However, it is surprisingly good with vocals by Stevie and Lindsey plus great guitar work by Buckingham. Listen to Crying In The Night, Races Are Run, Long Distance Winner, and the super spectacular Frozen Love. You won't be sorry!
