Until existing firearm laws are strictly enforced with mandatory minimums without the possibility of pleaing them down to lesser charges firearm laws are meaningless and will never reduce gun related violence. Prosecutors should be mandated, by law, to charge a felon and the minimum sentence should be 10 years without parole and this sentence should be consecutive to any underlying crime by law. Firearm laws without enforcement aren't laws.
