Omg, he literally said what YG himself always said about what he wants from his artists, naturalness, not being too much. Blackpink had that natural swag and talent without trying too hard what made me stan them.

I wouldn't say 4-6 years of training 12-16 hours a day, with one day off every other week, is "without trying too hard". They are certainly talented, but they look effortless because they worked their asses off to be able to do it.

Im really shocked as well as to how he pointed out those things about Blackpink within the first few seconds of seeing them. That’s what actually draws a lot of Blackpink fans to them. They actually seem to be one of the closest groups in terms of a real group bond. They post less about each other on social media than other groups but they constantly and consistently speak about each other at random times. I think that’s what really sells their close friendship to me because it’s easy to sit in front of a camera and fake it, but the fact that they constantly and willingly hang out with each other off camera outside of just “making music and filming” and we don’t know about it till their stories a week later is really telling. Also what helps ppl really attach to their music is the fact that their music itself is just so GOOD and different sounding from others. Like listening to DDU DDU DU, Boombaya, stay, whistle, How You Like That, Lovesick girls etc, you get something different each time. You really can’t guess what’s coming next.

I feel the same about blackpink honestly.. like there are tons of great music and group in kpop but oddly enough I just had this interest in blackpink that made me a fan. Like might be their character or whatnot but it's something I cannot explain. Same goes for IU as a solo artist.

I've been blink for 5 years...you are right about BLACKPINK for me they are queens of K-pop I was never as interested in any group as BLACKPINK, but once I got to know ATEEZ to be honest, I really needed to spread my love to them all his abilities are amazing they come from a small camp I don't know. I used to slide them past. If I could turn back time, I wouldn't. but one day, I listened to the song Say my name after which I had to find out who they were I fell in love with their vocals for only 4 minutes ATEEZ songs make my heart flutter every time I listen to it. I've never followed any fancam like BLACKPINK but ATEEZ they made me follow every fancam, every stage. I always said to myself that I wouldn't follow any group except BLACKPINK to ATEEZ is my only exception. I want you to delve deeper into ATEEZ They are amazing kids and really cool music styles!!!

I have been a blink for quite a while and Idk why but I was never interested in Ateez and would just skip past their vids but last year Idk why I clicked on Turbulence and fell in love with it upon first listen. Now, I'm an Atiny who loves Ateez very much not just because they're really talented and self-producing idols, but also because of their amazing personalities. I wish I could turn back time and stan Ateez sooner so I could spend more time with them 🥲but in all of Ateez's song there's a distinct Ateez sound just like Blackpink has their own too. I agree with you that Say My Name is a really ear catching song and that it deserves more attention.

I feel like there needs to be a separation between watching the videos and hearing the raps. Because most groups have a rap component versus being a rap-only group, the listening to the flow, seeing the lyrics, understanding the meanings is one part of the equation. The sound production, quality, music is another, and finally the visual of the video or the stage presentation. I think they can be and should (deserve?) to be considered apart from one another. It's easy to make a memorable video for a less-memorable song and vice versa, but the standouts are when the total package comes together. So maybe a feature of "here's the lyric video" for the first part, a re-listen to get the music, and then a watch of the MV and/or dance practice? Kpop seems to have created the distinguishing feature of a music culture built around a completely different foundation; no idol is "just" one thing, and they create these artists as an industry (we can argue whether that's a good or bad approach!). I love hearing the insights into the production and techniques, but I think it's too easy to be dazzled by a flash video rather than a deeper dive into the artistry that creates it. Thank you so much for these reaction videos. They're certainly fun to watch.

Ive always love rap. And i think skz got the best rapline in kpop. Idk but their raps arent common and they have their own flows and distinct voices. I think the group he is gg he is looking for at 20:42 is Dreamcatcher since that is he was looking in the second half and moused over the other groups. It was the group you watched at 12:10 in the reaction. Dreamcatchers main genre is rock so it does not always have big rap parts in they're title tracks. If you wants to check out some off they're title tracks I would recommend Boca or Scream. But if you want to hear more of the rapper I would recommend Dreamcatchers cover of Bang Bang Bang. Dami the main rapper of Dreamcatcher added an extra verse at the start.

Blackpink is on another level. Possibly the best girl group ever created. Jennie alone is insanely difficult to surpass. And that's just Jennie, bcs Lisa is the most popular member. Most girl groups are "trying hard" to do girl crush concept, to rap with swag like Jenlisa, to have unique vocals like Chaesoo. Kpop companies are desperate to have "The Next Blackpink" but they always fail bcs BP is very well put together. Other than their quality music, their individuality and the diversity of the group is what makes BP unique and special.

this list has pretty popular artists/groups as of now for this part 2 especially, but rightfully so because their rappers are super talented! also twice's rappers are underrated, but it is because of the concept. however, if you look at the side work and predebut stuff, they can really rap at least according to my perspective LOOL. ALSO, soyeon has to be the best no matter the generation because she was serious about it not just for becoming an kpop artist but because it was her passion since she was a child. she also produces almost all (g)-idle songs as their leader. also mark is one of the best sm rappers. blackpink just always slay. but most groups have their distinct members and diverse on their own with singers, rappers, visuals, and personalities not just blackpink. I am sure you will feel that once you discover more groups. also dreamcatcher is literally a group that stands out from the rest because of their concept and sounds. stray kids also has the best jyp rappers i have ever seen. ateez also seriously has underrated rappers, but hongjoong and mingi are really stable and their flows yes! itzy are such queens too and almost everyone can rap in itzy. txt seriously is only starting to show their rap potential, but yeonjun is especially is a legendary all rounder bighit trainee, so ofc he is amazing at rapping. aespa has good rappers, but giselle especially has that flowy and cool rapper tone. loool at this point i am mentioning everyone LOLL.

I figured either you can't stand them or the opposite - you are such a big fan that you have to be careful of how much content you put out there. I am happy that the latter is true. BTS has carved their own unique place in our world. Many people don't like them, don't resonate with them and it's okay. But it makes me feel weird when someone pretends that the band doesn't exist and should never be mentioned.
