Banana Fish is a really hardcore anime. It surrounds themes like drug addiction, human trafficking, SA, and many other dark themes. It'll makeyou question a lot of stuff, and it WILL make you cry. This is the type of anime you can use as proff that not all cartoons are made for children, and this story has many triggers and topics that even adults would like to avoid. That being said, it's very epic, both the OPs and the EDs are absolute BANGERS and the story is phenomenal Edit: If you're interested in the anime OSTs, Prayer X by King Gnu and Red by Survive Said the Phrophet are two of my favourite anime songs ever (they're both EDs, and very epic EDs). Banana Fish was also animated by the same studio that did Yuuri On Ice, which explains both the big fandom AND the way some people think that it's just "another stereotypical gay anime". This is not Junjou romantica or another toxic gay romance. The reason Banana Fish is considered +16 or even +18 in some countries is due to the severely triggering and serious content that it portrays - when we say it has SA, it's not the typical SA portrayed in many yaois. I'd also like to add that some gay romance that have launched in recent years have become way healthier! If you're interested in more OSTs, Given is both a gay romance but also a music anime focused on a rock band, and the music is GREAT!! The opening, Kizuato by Centimilimental, is another one of my favorites

@@Dja05 Yeah, the gay romance part is just a 10% or less of the anime, it's incredible and my favorite anime because it means so much to me. It's FAR from a shojo anime, but the author had to call the manga shoujo for reasons I don't remember. It's sad that most people avoid it because they think it's just another gay anime for women to enjoy. Again, it's FAR from it.

And for those who do not know what the problem with Toyko Ghoul is: Let me explain. I'll use Harry Potter as an analogy. The first movie did a great job of adapting the book, leaving out a few things of course (Tokyo Ghoul season 1). But the producers decided for the second season not to adapt the manga and wrote their own story, and it just sucked. It's like Harry Potter went to a magic school on Mars in the second movie to learn snake magic, because yeah... he can talk to snakes and stuff. The fans were angry, very. So in the third season, the creators went back to the manga, but pretended they told the second season like manga. Means: The story no longer makes sense for many, because a whole season with character development and plot is completely different. And the worst thing is: They decided to tell the whole rest of the manga in one season, and cut out so much, it's hard to put it into words. It's like telling Harry Potter movies 3 through 8 all in one movie and cutting out everything about Voldemord. So YES: The Toyko Ghoul anime is terrible and should not be watched. Just grab the manga or demand a remake of Toyko Ghoul (Tokyo Ghoul "Brotherhood").

Call of the Night is definitely my favorite of this season. Also fun fact: the ending song is what originally inspired the manga, as both the song and the manga have the same name. When it was adapted to anime form they managed to get the song as the ending track.

In one of the notes in the manga the autor describes how he asked the band "Creepy Nuts" if he could use the song name for a manga (before he even started writing). The anime having it as the ED is just so perfect. Creative minds inspiring each other coming full circle. The song is about growing into adulthood by staying up late and living the city night life, and thus learning about all the "dirty" stuff aswell (alcohol, cigarettes and other nsfw stuff). Hence all the enticing poses in the ending.

Glassy Sky fits so well in Tokyo Ghoul I can't even describe how it makes me feel. When the snow starts falling as Kaneki walks through the dark empty city streets... Shoujo manga? Shoujo is typically made for a female audience and has a much more feminine feel to it. Banana Fish is more Shounen. More aimed at males. Obviously anyone can enjoy BF, but I wouldn't label it as Shoujo lol.

Soul Eater is notoriously underrated and both the intro's (and all of the outro's) are incredible; they fit the vibe of the anime insanely well, Fire Force is like a pre-prequel to Soul Eater set in the same universe, and the music for Fire Force really emulates and has a similar vibe to Soul Eater which made me INEXPLICABLY happy when I started watching the anime

You Shoul DEFINITELY check out banana fish, ig it wont do as good as your other series but its a must watch if you want to explore the deepness of the anime world. It surrounds some very dark themes that are related to the real world(ig they chose NYC bcs its like the best city on the outside but holds so much darkness within its back alleys) anyway i eill highly prefer to watch it if you are right in your mind rn.

yeh and about studio pirot this studio is the greatest studio as this studio has animated most of the popular animes that we know like 2 of the big 3 is animated by pirot Naruto+ Naruto SHIPPUDEN, and bleach and bleach tybw arc , black clove is also animated by pirot not only that they have recently reanimated Naruto og for its 20th anniversary like not the entire thing but some important scenes along with SHIPPUDEN with the modern pirot bleach tybw arc animation style ... that's pirot y'know .

Banana Fish is a wonderful piece of work, but it can be a daunting ordeal for the anime novice. It is a work as painful as hell and as beautiful as hell. I recommend that you watch it only after you are prepared to grip a piece of beautiful glass.
