Damn... NF always has very subtle references to his older tracks- Think about this- Nate is saying that the devil won’t leave him alone and that he will basically send demons to torment Nate. Who do we know that does that in his other songs? That’s right- fear! If you know the story that goes throughout NFS music you will know that he references fear all throughout his music. Towards the end of the journey so far in intro III, he says that he buried fear so it doesn’t get to him anymore, and in this song he mentions that he’s letting it get mad since he’s not letting fear (in this case the devil) get to him. He also references the room that fear is in, etc. So basically all of the fear/burdens that he has had throughout his life was sent by the devil. That’s deep.

I shoot direct, defuse the threat And they wonder why the music has a huge effect? Could it be 'cause I've been the go-to when it comes to depth? 'Cause I'm the one that they be callin' when the people get fed up And want the music with the visuals, I got a vendetta For any part of me that wanna make it hard to get set up And take away the happiness, it can be kinda pathetic But when I look at everything that's tryna give me a headache I gotta be honest, I really been the cause of it, get it 'Cause I can see a side of me you'll never see, you can tell when I'm at the breakin' point, I finally had to sit with the devil I went into hell and I asked him what the problem is yellin' He tried to get me to live with him, even called me a sinner And told me everything about me doesn't feel like a winner So why continue when he's tellin' me I might as well give up? I took a moment, thought about it, feelin' caught in the middle But got offended when he told me I would live in a kennel And I can never leave it, even if I made it to Heaven He'd find a way to get me back and send a demon to get me I'm like "Woah (Woah), hold up, I don't think so" Skin and bones meet my ego How's he look? He don't eat much Let him starve, I don't feed him I just beat him, I just leave him in his womb, in a fetal Let him cry, let him yell, let him scream, I don't need him Lift off when I'm ticked off, my pitfalls I latch onto like a pit dog I sit calm with a sick thought of a sitcom of the life I live Life I live's more like a sci-fi flick I hide in, wanna watch? Your channel and breakdowns have single handily got me back into rap music. I thought the genre was lost (much like rock music) but the songs you dissect reminded me that there's so much talent and creativity that never makes mainstream. I just watch your videos and instantly add the tracks to my playlist. Btw lovin' your track "Hip Hop is Dead." What a stroll down memory lane. Awesome channel!

FIRST person I’ve, seen… including friends… notice the Big Lebowski ref ❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

It's some distorted version of what was in "leave me alone" at the beginning and end.

Tech gave props to nf at least twice in this song. When he first came on the track he said tech nina next king up. Calling nf a king at the beginning and an elephant at the end

Broooo. When I listened to this, my first thought was “I would love Knox to break this down so I can catch more”

In your favorite line of this song from Tech, “Quit embellishing, a demon from hell is sent, yell it when Donny you’re out of your element.” Is a double reference, to Big Lebowski and to himself. Tech’s middle name is Dontez, and his nick name as a kid was Donny. In one layer he’s speaking to other rappers with this line, telling them to “quit embellishing”, when they do a demon from hell is sent (himself) and they’ll yell it, “that’s a demon”, cause when it comes to Donny you’re out of your element.

Just heard this song today but listening at the gym I wasn’t listening for the lyrics. Had to come to the goat for this breakdown
@tnacrew5 ай бұрын
Best part of that Big Lebowski line is Tech N9ne's middle name is Dontez and people close to him called him Donnie because of that. Ties in ever so nicely.

Always loved this song, but honestly after your breakdown of it, it became my #1 favorite by NF

The Donnie you're out of your element line is also a double, cause Tech's middle name is Dontez and, in Push Start, he mentions people called him Donnie when he was younger 🔥🔥

I hardly ever comment on KZbin videos and my kids and I watch a lot of KZbin videos.Just stumbled onto this following having heard the song What by Tech N9ne and not even halfway through the video I'm liking and subscribing and looking for the bad comment button. Yes loved the song in the beginning and loved everything you were saying about the Tech N9ne and NF song which I was addicted to when I first heard that song I threw my hand up just like that count on one hand who I trust.. I completely agree with every point you were making everything you were getting into detail about exactly I am just like wow I would say it at a lost for words but amazing totally amazing well done and also quite possibly exactly the way I am when I listen to songs by my top favorite artists anytime any day new songs and well-known songs alike don't take this the wrong way or like weird but I think that if we were friends we would have pretty epic conversation. So glad this video found me

"Devil keep calling me he trying to flirt I hang up the phone these are more then just words" then he states he finally had to sit down with him is really cool...takes it all the way back to therapy session!

Levitate by Twenty Øne Piløts. They aren’t necessarily straight up rap artists but Tyler Joseph is definitely able to pull it out when he wants. Their lyrics get super deep too good for breakdowns.

I like how this guy listens and dissects the lyrics. It’s like watching a New Rockstars movie breakdown.

The one line that most people I've seen miss is the Jet Li line. Jet Li had a movie "The One" and tech is saying lyrically elect me as "the one" Edit: Also Tech's nickname given to him by Big Scoop is Donnie Punani so the Donnie you're out of your element line is a double

One my favorite lines is “Reload the beat, so I can reach each soul No cease, no finito, release (Go!)” Mostly because of how it matches the music in a way that’s almost like he reloads a gun and then fires it to make the beat come back in. So damn dope!

I'ma be real, I'm an oldhead (42), and I grew up on Bone, Pac, Biggie, Nas, hell even Naughty By Nature lol. Up until a couple weeks ago I never heard of or listened to NF. My 13-year old son was listening to When I Grow Up in the car and I was like whooaaa who is this? Been hooked ever since. Love the way you break stuff down too, good stuff man.
