man i would love seeing how excited youd get for all of these tracks if you had heard the tracks that built up to them... loving them on their own is great bc they are great on their own lol but taking the whole journey is a completely diff experience bc you dont just get to hear great music.. you get to know tom while getting even more great music bc some of the songs people sleep of are absolute gems!!

My feelings on Tom are complicated...I love his style, the content, the rhyme schemes, but I just can't bump him regularly. His only weakness is really the hooks, which is probably why this is my favorite track from him.

Hey ant dolla. :-) You REALLY need to listen to "I Wish," /and/or "Castles" next. :-) Because that's the thing about Tom - he really enjoys keeping people guessing about what his true intentions are. When I first started listening to him I really wasn't sure what his game was. I would get hints and snippets of it but he was always something of an enigma. Always playing things very close to the chest. And those two songs - and others he has made about his depression like "Angel," are when he spits even more truth -if that were possible. :) It's like in those songs he really is just laying down all his cards for the first time. And it's freakin' beautiful man. :) Also, you're not the first reviewer to point out that in terms of technique he is not the best rapper out there. He even admits it in at least one of his songs. But (I am an artist/musician too so I get it) I think it is sometimes really easy for us fellow artists to do is to forget that a piece may be technically advanced - but if people don't like listening to it - it ain't gonna get heard. ( ex.: Like all of baroque music ever x)) He's one of those musicians - who knows he is not the best out there. But his delivery is so jaw-dropping, and he is so iconic; it makes up for his more amateurish aspects. Also he is still really young. Like only 33. And listening to his first album since he went independent vs. the last album he just dropped. There is a SIGNIFICANT improvement let me tell you. :) Just as he says. He doesn't look back. So the only place he been going for the last 2-3 years is up. And for me, it has been a privilege to watch it. For all of us in the HOG fam. And THAT's why we continue to follow him. To see what kinda crazy shit he's got up his sleeve next. :-) He ain't just an artist bro. He a goddamn magician. :-)

Baroque music? You're wrong here - Vivaldi and Bach are still popular, though centuries have passed. Not sure if anyone will remember rock n roll or hip-hop in next century though. I like baroque music pretty much, while later period ("classical music") makes me sleepy. And I like Tom Macdonald, though I can't stand most of hip-hop. But you're right - I care less if Tom's "technique" is good or bad by hip-hop standards, because what's matter is delivery and energy behind his music, as well as message.
