I remember the first time hearing this song myself and how the exact same parts of the song stood out to me as well. Like the back and forth between the melodic and the "in your face" in the chorus and then the rapping bit with that guitar riff and everything. I sometimes wish I could forget everything about Slipknot again and re-discover all their music for myself because there's really no comparable listening experience imo 😄🤘

If I remember correctly this is the first album I brought by slipknot and hearing this song for the first time was just so amazing to hear corey Taylor screams and clean vocals are just so beautiful and fits perfectly together. Awesome reaction man 🖤🤘

the song is either about "the shape" Halloween wise, or its corey describing his hate for everything that exists to the point he feels like hes going on a killing rampage as if he was the shape, either way it has to do with Halloween and a killing rampage

It's not about any of that. It's about losing your grip on reality and being blinded by deep seeded depression, hate, sadness, etc.

@@k3yzw1zard79 Yes. “The Shape” is merely referring most likely to his humanity or his metaphysical body (“soul”), being “broken and thrown away”. Again, due to all those things you mentioned, it’s like he’s gotten to the point where all that remains of him is this “shape”, the person he was before is gone. That’s my interpretation.

new slipknot fan, I've heard the radio airplay stuff but when I found ,sorry B,but when I found newlifeshaq during the early shutdowns of the pandemic, the first videos I watched were from the latest album, unsainted/nero forte and such I've been diving in head first down that Slipknot rabbit hole, I've been subscribed to "B" for about the same time, shaq hasn't done a metal video in a year or more now....going oct 10 in Jersey to see slipknot, 1st is spirit box and Biscuit aug 7 stone pony outside ,then Stained Korn at PNC in jersey then I end it with Cory and the boys
