Nova wasn't able to rap on this, because of how long it took to put together over long distance (Brandon in Canada, Tom and Nova in L.A.) Brandon couldn't come to the states because of Covid. He even built a replica of the confessional, to make it look like him and Tom were rapping together, even though they were thousands of miles apart. You have to love the determination and drive of these independent artists.

"Balls to the wall" originated from aviation when the throttle levers all had a ball at the top and when you pushed them all the way forward they would be up close the the wall of the instrument panel. "Pushing the envelope" came from aviation as well referencing flying at the performance limits in the flight envelope.

This is way late. Balls to the wall referred originally to the govenor on a steam engine. Trains. Balls-out as the governor increased steam power the balls went straight out. Full power, full spead.

@@tafinzer it may have been used that way, I have my doubts though. According to Google ngram the phrase didn't takeoff until the 1960s, well after the age of steam. Steam engine locomotives may have had a firewall of sorts to separate the crew from the fire, seems like it'd be in the way of getting fuel to the fire. Airplanes for sure have a firewall. It separates the engine and its internal combustion, fuel and rapidly moving parts from the soft, fleshy and fragile parts. More importantly though almost every WW2 era plane, at least on the allied side, had balls on the end of the throttle, propeller and mixture levers. If you need to get one of those engines to give maximum performance without regard to longevity or economy you shove all three forward towards the firewall. Twenty years after the end of WW2 would have seen those military aviators sitting around hanger flying and wowing the younger pilots with stories of their battles ("so there I was, balls to the wall, when a 109 jumped me from outta the sun").

Balls to the wall originated in aviation. There were two levers to control the throttle with balls on top for handles linked together. Directly in front of that was a firewall control panel. To get the maximum amount of power to the engine and achieve flight you had to go "balls to the wall"
