*Back in the day it was awesome to know someone felt the way I was feeling. What I didn't know is he wasn't singing about things he once felt as someone who's been there and understands. He was singing it as someone still going through it, in pain, screaming out for help too. Hearing these songs now just hits different than they used to. RIP Chester!* 🤟😘💔

My niece used to sing Linkin park when she was younger during every car ride. Even if nothing was playing on the radio. Money can buy temporarily happiness, but once you get diagnosed with a deadly disease money don't mean anything anymore. I've learned to enjoy every waking moment that I have above ground.

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years or more since I heard Linkin Park for the first time-still feels like maybe 5-10 years ago. Chester blew me away early on with his vocal capabilities. They also made great music. Still heartbroken over Chester. I hope he truly has found peace. So many great tunes and I’m sure y’all have heard a lot but I’ll just list a few anyway: “Numb” “In The End” “What I’ve Done” “One Step Closer” “Burn It Down” “Breaking The Habit” “One More Light” “Lost In The Echo” and the one that’s still in rotation at my work which mostly plays pop/country so it’s weird “Shadow of the Day”. Also just want to let folks know there is a new number for crisis help if you ever need it. It’s called the Lifeline and it’s 988. Love you all. Take care!

One can tell it came from his heart! He built years of frustration and let it out in that scream. I bet he felt good every time he sang it live. Unfortunately it wasn't enough clearly. I miss Chester, Linkin park was the first band I ever listened to, so the day I found out Chester passed, I smoked a whole pack of cigarettes while listening to them, because their music was so close to my heart. I felt the loss for a month even though I didn't know the man personally. I hope he found peace 😢

Chester was very professional and diligent with warming up his voice before performing. No engineering needed on his vocals. The headphones guy is Brad the main guitarist. He kept the headphones for the majority of Linkin’s career but moved to in-ears. Mike the rapper is another guitarist on some songs and plays piano too on some.

As far as that scream goes, I'll give you a little bit of science; Profesional divers have a trick where they essentially hyperventilate, in order to expand their lung capacity before taking a dive. They fill their lungs as far as they can go, hold for a few seconds, then empty it quickly, then repeat. This not only expands your lung capacity temporarily, but it also rids your lungs of any residual carbon dioxide that may not be removed during normal breathing. Thus, you have higher capacity, and it's full of oxygenated air that your body can use. Why is this relevant to this song? "Put me out of my" breath "Put me out of my" breath "Put me out of my" breath "fucking" breath "miser-" breath *17 second scream* Chester worked that breathing trick into the way he sung that line. Starting cold, he may not have been able to pull that off, but chaining all those breaths together, he had more than enough to hit that 17 second mark and still finish strong. Genius.

This song hits entirely different now knowing what happened to Chester. Most of LPs songs do. This was just one of the many songs in which Chester laid open his heart for everyone and screamed his anguish at the top of his lungs.

It's actually really sad and devastating to listen to LP songs post-Chester knowing what we know now about how he died. Aside from the fact that they are great songs that millions of people worldwide can relate to, they were Chester's personal cries for help that ultimately went unheard in the end. Such dark lyrics because they were his thoughts and feelings. He had a lot of demons he just couldn't overcome.

I don’t think money can buy happiness per say, but I’d say it can make some of the things that makes you unhappy go away. If your most your life problems are related to a lack of money and stacked debts, then yeah money can make you more happy by way of taking out what made you unhappy in the first place. But money will not help help you, me or everyone that is struggling with emotional and psychological unhappiness. Using me as an exemple : if tomorrow I win a few millions dollars with the lottery, it will make me a lot less unhappy and lot more calm and peaceful about the future yes, but I’d still be the depressive emotional wreçk I’ve been for over 2 decades, millions won’t change how I feel about society, life itself, or my lack of self love. It would certainly make it easier to focus on what makes me this way at the core, since that much money would solve a lot of other problems and troubles, but when you’re like me and consider that being alive is a curse, no amount of money will directly fix this.

Chester wrote the lyrics to this song in 2005 just after rehab in 2005 about his struggles with depression during his divorce from his first wife. He went through a very dark time in his life where he didn't know if he wanted to stay alive any more. He wrote quite a few songs during this time to help him understand his feelings and to help deal with them in a more healthy way than turning to drugs and alcohol. Most of the songs he wrote then were done though his second band (separate from Linkin Park) called Dead By Sunrise. Mike, Rob, Joe, Brad, Dave (Phoenix), Ryan Shuck, and Amir Derakh all helped Chester out in some way to help him get back on his feet after his divorce. A lot of Chester's mental health problems stemmed from his childhood. He was sexually abused by an older boy who he thought was his friend and that went on for 6 years. When Chester was 11 years old his parents divorced and his mother moved with his older sister and Chester stayed with their father. Chester was the youngest of 4 children to his parents. Chester's father worked long hours as a detective in the Phoenix Police Department investigating sex crimes against children so he wasn't home a lot to realize Chester needed help. So Chester also had abandonment issues because he felt like his mom had abandoned him after his parents divorce even though she didn't. Chester was bullied in high school because he was too skinny from the drug and alcohol use. If you watch some of the interviews/ documentaries from Hybrid Theory time has a lot of information about Chester's struggles from childhood. You don't have to make a reaction video for them. I am just trying to help you get to know Chester better.

The one with the poofy hair is Brad lead guitarist. Brad went through phases where he let his hair grow out and then he would have it buzz cut. Brad let Snoop Dogg's hairdresser braid his hair at one point in 2004 during the Projekt Revolution tour. Chester was the most wild one with his hair but other members would do different things with their hair. Mike has had his hair red, dark blue, bright blue and blonde (2000). In the music video for Pepercut Mike had his hair dark blue with 3 little strips of red. Chester had a red mohawk. Mike Shinoda would always change his hair style when he would do something different musical. It is one of the indications he was doing something back in October.
