This song is very emotional. It's about him being bullied for his weight and all the crap he went through when he was 14 and in middle school. It's about getting revenge for all the pain. Released Anger through his music. It hits home especially for those who were bullied in school when they were younger. All of their music has a message. They're deep.

Without knowing the lyrics I was very emotional about this song, it is funny and aggressive but it has something that touches your heart and after knowing the lyrics it really leaves me in tears
@SuzakuX3 жыл бұрын
I'd say it's really more about letting go of those feelings and moving on. The opening is the drummer talking about how her brother's immaturity (brain like a junior high schooler, reading children's comics) is damaging his marriage. Then he talks about being pushed to the edge by bullies. His monologue at the start about weight is actually a metaphor about how you can't tell how much of a burden someone is carrying just by looking at them; a scale will read 100 whether it has 100 kg on it or 1100 kg on it. Middle part of the song is all about coping with being bullied by picking fights with older kids and learning to play the guitar, and then talking about using those feelings as motivation and getting revenge on the bullies. At the end of the song he monologues about not wanting to grow up, and it crescendos with them singing about taking all those feelings of anger and revenge and... letting them go. Then it cuts to Nao singing about how Ryo is even more immature than she first said (brain like a middle schooler).

I've been a massive fan of them for years now and something told me that you fellas would inevitably stumble across them. This song in particular is the title track and opening track of their most recent full-length album; merely a small taste of what this band has to present. If I could suggest a song to react to it would be literally anyone that you can find. You simply cannot go wrong with this band, I guarantee it. As to what the song is about, there's a pretty swell fan blog that often does a great job at achieving meanings and providing accurate translations. There are some exceptions. The guitarist, going by the stage name Maximum the Ryokun is the primary writer and composer of the band. There are a few songs that are written in a code language referred to as "Planet Ryo" language, which is such a mishmash of Japanese, other languages and gibberish that even Japanese speaking people fail to easily decipher it. The album this song is from comes with a manga that tells the story of the album and partially aid in deciphering this gibberish. I'll provide a link that'll help make sense of this. You should definitely add these cats to your BABYMETAL Monday's. Each of these bands offer such a unique approach to metal, but Maximum the Hormone is in a league of their own. Anywho, here's the link, and keep diving into new and interesting things: mthinenglish.blogspot.com/2013/08/yoshu-fukushu-lyrics-english-translation.html?m=1

Dudes react more to Maximum The Hormone, they've been around since 1998. They are known for their experimental avant-garde metal mixing but it works, one of the band the inspired BABYMETAL! Did you know that the drummer of this band Nao was also inspired by the drummer of BAND-MAID, Akane to play drums. MTH is really popular in Japan, they are great live too. The meaning of the band is that the word "horumon" (if you pronounced it in English as Hormone) is a type of meat grill with skewers, so basically the band members really loves to eat a lot. They called their fans HARAPEKO. Please react to this song its called Maximum The Hormone 1 (yes that's the name of the song): kzbin.info/www/bejne/g57JhqyvirFjbaM
@bonehead11703 жыл бұрын
Backwards (or maybe mistyped?) Akane was inspired by Nao. "That would be Nao of Maximum the Hormone. When I learned that a woman was playing drums so violently, I received a great shock. I absolutely thought it was a man (laughs). I also wanted to be a drummer who can shock like Nao, and it also gave me the opportunity to resolve that "I'll seriously persevere at the drums". She’s my favourite drummer." - Akane

Their actual name is written in katakana. Katakana is the Japanese alphabet used for borrowed words from other languages. ホルモン or hormone Horumonyaki (Japanese: ホルモン焼き) is a kind of Japanese cuisine made from beef or pork discarded parts. The name horumon is derived from the word "hormone", which means "stimulation" in Greek. The name horumon is also similar to the Kansai dialect term hōrumon (放る物), which means "discarded goods". What does this have to do with this band? When asked about the group's name in an interview, Maximum the Ryo-kun stated "Take it as you like, it means anything from the Japanese cuisine for cooking animal innards to the sensation of the maximum amount of your hormones coming to the boil! Although when we go abroad people think we’re just some sorta sexual energy drink." "Hormone" (or horumon) is a style of yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) where many of the typically discarded internal organs are grilled in bite sized pieces and eaten. P.S. I did the wikipedia work for you. 🤣🤣

Maximum the Hormone are great. They are often compared to System of a Down, just like you noted. Their bassist is often compared to 'Flea' from Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think the die antwoord comparison isn't that accurate, but whatever. They like to blend genres and styles, sometimes to the point of trolling their own fans. So you can see their influences quite openly, though i'd argue the way they bring it all together still results in something very unique and definitely worth listening to. Quite the interesting band to explore. I know i hope to see a lot more of them =) For some of their songs, i think it's best knowing the story behind it, or at least having some background info to read after watching the video as some songs are just weird otherwise. When you understand why, it actually becomes like an in-joke. Though it's always fun to see people being bewildered by it or guessing what the song is about. In any case, great band, hope to see more of it !

Check out the song "The Devil's Bleeding Crown" by Volbeat. They're a hard rock/heavy metal band from Copenhagen, Denmark. I can assure you both will find it pretty catchy. p.s. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦

I think you guys should check out Stomu Yamashta's 'The Man From The East' album. A lot of people don't know about his music, he's like a Japanese Pink Floyd. I was introduced to him years ago by an old school hippie. I highly recommend the song 'Hiroshima'. Meant to be based on the eerie silence in the aftermath of the nuclear explosion. No lyrics, just music and will (most probably) be unlike anything you've heard previously. On a side note, I've never seen anyone react to his music before.
