The album Countdown to extinction came out in ‘92. I don’t know Mustane’s direct musical influences. However, VH1 or mtv in the 90’s had a “music jeopardy” game show and Mustane was dominating with his vast music knowledge of different genres. Things I didn’t think he’d listen to. I was genuinely surprised.

🦋Great Choice By The Trash Tribe On Patreon. 🙌I was 16 in 92' when this was released. I remember my parents buying me a ton of great music including this Cd. I have them to thank for my music influence throughout my youth. My Mother The Singer & My Dad A Guitarist For His Band, Back In The Day. Floyd, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Megadeth, Metallica, Tool , Soundgarden... were Some Of my Top favorites then. Now I give credit to just about every piece of music that has ever graced my ears. Music can touch the soul in so many ways. It's heavenly. Always Entertaining The Masses, With Your Killer Reactions Guys! Politically Driven Lyrics In This Song. You take a mortal man And put him in control Watch him become a god Watch peoples heads a 'roll A 'roll, a 'roll Just like the pied piper Led rats through the streets We dance like Marionettes Swaying to the symphony of destruction... & Within My Lyrical Memory SOD, Reminds Me Of This Song... To all the marionettes, All you perpetrators be walkin' 'round frontin' What? You fakers afraid to stand for somethin'? If you're gonna run, how fast you're gonna run? And if you're gonna jump, how high you're gonna jump? All you perpetrators be walkin' 'round frontin' Why don't you stand up and break me off somethin'? You wanna make it outta sight? Somebody wanna get loud tonight? We hit that, flip that, settle the score And ain't nobody rock a crowd like this before!!! You wanna make it outta sight? Somebody wanna get loud tonight? Like an earthquake, let it shake, make the floor vibrate, Were All Here To Set This Record Straight...-TFK-'Puppet'' 🎶🎶🤘😉✌🎶🎶🦋''Sweating Bullets'' I Hope Is The Next Megadeth Reaction Guys!

Dave's musical influences were the same as most 70s & 80s metal heads- Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix. But the biggest inspiration & influence of all was AC/DC. Dave was a huge AC/DC fan. He also had some punk influences too, like the Sex Pistols. If you're asking for a series of dots to be presented so you can draw a line between each one to connect them and trace them backwards in order to explain his signature play style, there aren't any. Dave was a pioneer as a guitarist. His sound and style is all his own, a result of his signature play style known as the "Spider technique", a method he invented himself. A better way to put it would be AC/DC, Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin inspired him, but none of them influenced him. His guitar playing and composition style is all his own.

This song was from the album Countdown To Extinction from 1992, so you weren't too far off! Yes Megadeth have so far done 15 albums with a new one out next year so hopefully you react to stuff from that when it drops! Smokey was correct that David Ellefson the founding member and bassist was fired earlier this year for a controversial affair with his wife with a 19 year old fan, videos of which leaked online. Some of Dave Mustaine'influences include bands such as Trouble, Thin Lizzy, Budgie, The Sex Pistols, Iron Maiden, Kiss and Deep Purple Also a quick overview of the styles in Megadeth's career - mid to late 80s was their beginning and they helped pioneer thrash metal and made 2 full thrash albums and one punk/thrash album. Then into the early 90s they made Rust In Peace which was progressive/ technical thrash and followed up with Countdown To Extinction which blended that with a more commercial metal approach with more catchy tracks like this one. The rest of the 90s they veered more into this Vein as solos became unpopular and nu metal, grunge and alternative rock became popular. At the start of the 2000s the band disbanded (this is also when Ellefson left the first time as he sued for ownership of the band once Mustaine left) as Dave suffered a nerve injury in his arm and was told he would never play guitar again, but after a few years of physical therapy they bounced back with more thrash albums. In 2013 they Made Super Collider which was a return to radio friendly rock which was poorly recieved and so they've been back to their roots ever since. There one of the few bands where some of their later albums are just as good as their old stuff. Endgame, Dystopia and Thirteen are all albums that came out over the last 10 years but have been very very high quality
