This is group that formed while Joey was in Slipknot. It featured Wednesday 13 from Frankenstein Drag Queens, guitarist Tripp Eisen from Dope then Static X, who was replaced by Acey Slade from Dope when Tripp couldn’t tour due to Static X commitments. Joey is on guitar. Eric Bishop (bass) and Ben Graves(drums) round out the band. Love The album this is on. The horror themes through the whole thing. If you want a good laugh watch the video for their cover of Billy Idol’s White Wedding

I was OBSESSED with Murderdolls, and every so often, I hear one of their songs and become reobsessed. I LOVED them so much. The album this song is on, Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, is an AMAZING album. Every song is great. I would request that y'all PLEASE react to the song People Hate Me by Murderdolls for one reason and one reason only. Nevermind that it's a great song and is hilarious, but my mom died in June of 2022, and I remember back when I got this album in 2002, I was a senior in high school as I graduated in May 2003, and my mom was amazing in her sharing my music with me. She embraced my goth nature and didn't shame me or anything, but encouraged me to be who I am and to express myself however I wanted, and when we listened to the album in the car, and it got to track 5, People Hate Me, my mom said that was her theme song, and would sing along with it every time we'd play it, and it got to where she'd request I play it at least once sometimes when we'd be in the car together. Since she died, I haven't been able to listen to the song, but I would request that y'all react to it in her memory. Love y'all. ♥

Joey was in Murderdolls during his time in Slipknot. It existed in other variations for a number of years before but debuted with this line-up and more polished production in 2002. Joey played every instrument on the album that this song is off except for lead vocals and select guitar parts. And yes, Slipknot could be considered a supergroup. To keep it simple, the classic line-up (self-titled era) was an amalgamation of Sound Proof Coalition (Sid), Modifidious/The Rejects/Have Nots (Joey), Body Pit (Paul), Noisegate/Shedd (Chris), Deadfront (Jim), Modifidious (Craig), Heads On The Wall (Shawn), Body Pit (Mick), Stone Sour (Corey).

Such a perfect moment in history. Ben Graves (drummer) and Joey Jordison are now passed, Tipp Eisen went to prison, and everyone slowly forgot this band. @@nupraptorthementalist3306 Murderdolls are nothing like Nu Metal. Why immediately think of black or thrash metal? They're primarily horror punk, with a dash of glam metal and shock rock.
@nupraptorthementalist330611 ай бұрын
@FlyboyHelosim It just sounds like Nu metal to me, deliberately; even cameos and band members are pylons of the nu metal scene at the time. Black or thrash is what comes to my mind as more quintessentially "metal"? I'm sure Murderdolls was influenced by punk but they don't sound like, The Misfits for example? I suppose I don't see how this isn't nu metal. Surely you agree it's strongly associated and definitely similar. I just think it is. It's more like Slipknot and Marylin Manson than anything else as far as I can tell.
@FlyboyHelosim11 ай бұрын
@@nupraptorthementalist3306 It could be argued that there's some similarity to Nu Metal but so have many genres. Just because it doesn't sound like The Misfits doesn't mean it's not punk, they're not the blueprint for what horror punk should be. It's punk with regards to short songs and simple song structures with no fluff. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it's not the case. Maybe expand your understanding of music.
