I am an American who lived in Davao for years and the reason I was safe there is because of Mayor Duterte who kept us all safe. Actually I felt so safe that I let my guard down and was pick pocketed ( which can happen anywhere). I hope you catch the pick pocket Rodrigo, give him the fullest extent of the law punishment for me please. I am sure the thief was not living in Davao for long because when a thief gets caught he doesn't stay around to do it again. But as far as being out at night or fearing walking around---No I felt very safe and again, the reason was because Mayor Duterte is known as being very tough on crime. He tells the lawbreakers to keep on going and don't stay in Davao or you will be sorry. So the bad people usually don't come here. He also has alot of friends in Davao whose citizens all feel as if they can come to Rodrigo with their problems. I felt that way also. You get the idea that he is working for YOU!

@@dobazajr i did went to Davao also. I had a meetin in a coffee shop. My luggage was on a Nissan pickup and I was so worried that I keep on looking at it outside and they obviously noticed me and laugh. They said don't worry no one will take it. Even the vendors are so disciplined that they clean their places immediately because I ate 5 pomelos they were so addicting. Airport staff are so attentive and kind. Davao is very luck to DU30.
