The best thing for me that came out of K and Ds beef is finding your content. Maybe it’s a New York thing/ Bori thing but I trust you lol! Keep doing your thing!

Rapsody is a rare jewel. She’s hella talented and she’s definitely what we need in Hip Hop. “Please don’t cry” has been on heavy rotation since its release. I hope she gets all the respect and love she deserves. ♥️ ✊🏿

This reminds me of 4:44, Life is Good and Mr. Moral & The Big Steppers. I have never heard about life from that perspective and I related with a lot maybe more than those greats.

It’s definitely a life type album.

Listening to this album and hearing her plight reminds me so much of Wale and what he went through being an artist with substance but not catching the eye of the masses. They are very similar artist imo as well. Dope and overlooked.

@@RobMarkman Thank you Rob. I host a podcast called the Ike’s Inspiration Podcast where I have introspective conversations with inspiring individuals. If you are interested, I would love to invite you and have you on the podcast. I believe we would have a great conversation about the state of hip hop and the role hip hop had in our lives.

Been wiating to see if you put your thoughts about this one out. Loved this album. That "he shot me" joint was heavy and beautiful. "I shot the sheriff. But i did not shoot the deputy. He shot me. Nobody cares when these black bodies pile up in the street. They shot me." Such a beautiful and tragic line. 3am was great too. Loved the interview she did with eryka on her youtube channel. Great to see two cool and positive people like them create things together and tackle important subjects.

Thank Yooou Rob for covering Rapsody 🫡 I'm not crazy bout comparisons but Rap is like the female Dot to me frfr & even mentioning Lady & Tierra 🥰💯💯 they may not be what the "controllers" want too market but these women are SO HipHop its ridiculous 🤦🏽♀️ Idk if you fk wit 3D'Natee but she's a beautiful story teller too 🔥 also if you're not up on it (it's not her music on this but the thought & contribution is 🔥 imo) Ivy's show "The Debut" is a dope platform for new artists 💯

Thank you for sharing this! I always found female rap so dope, the fact that a female can spit dope rhymes has always fascinated me, when I was a kid my cousin used to freestyle and she was damn good at it. My favorite female rapper is Foxy Brown, her freestyles and flow go crazy!!🔥

Rapsody needs her Control moment! When is she gonna provoke the competition??? Take a stand? Pick a side? She needs to destroy a rapper or two her soul is too clean so far lol
@RobMarkman4 ай бұрын
I don’t think she’s interested in knocking down anyone else honestly. I think she’ll go there if she’s provoked but i don’t know if she’d initiate it
@CampNou19994 ай бұрын
@@RobMarkman this is why she may feel ignored She happens to not have competition among female rappers and she hasn't been willing to call out any male rapper! Control wasn't a take down but it was necessary for Kendrick to announce his pursuit of the crown. Why can't Rap do that?
@jmar51274 ай бұрын
Lets not throw Cardi B in this convo bro. Shes not penning any of her barz in fact its being done by a man which makes it even worse. Lets not disrespect the queens of this culture that at the very least wrote the majority of thier barz. respectfully. Keep the Cardi's and the sexy redds in their own lane. Rapsody is a one of one. 3 classic albums. Incredible
@RobMarkman4 ай бұрын
Is Cardi not hip-hop? Out of all the names i mentioned she isn’t the only one who has had writers. The writer convo is an important one, but it doesn’t make her less hip hop imo

Man I don’t understand why women view the female title as a negative. You have Actor & Actress. You have Waitress & Waiter. NBA & WNBA.. we gotta get away from complicating simple identification. She can go bar for bar with anybody while representing being a woman. I just don’t see why mentioning gender anything was relevant. Let those who make everything something negative do that. We know wassup & real ones don’t confuse gender with artistry.
@RobMarkman4 ай бұрын
The problem is, when women rappers are discussed, they are often discussed as second class rappers, there’s historically been a tone (if it wasn’t out right said) that women rappers aren’t as good as men. And it’s not true. WNBA, sure, they’re are physical differences between men and women. In rap there is nothing in our respective genders that make one better than the other
@RealBballMov3S4 ай бұрын
@@RobMarkman yeah it’s always been a whack narrative. It’s no different than a white dude who can hoop but he’s playing with all black dudes so they say “he can hoop for a white boy”..giving backhanded compliments instead of just respecting the game.
@CampNou19994 ай бұрын
yeah there's no female hip hop that's true Sex rap is definitely its own category though Some males and females should definitely be categorized as Sex Rappers 😂😂
