On May 24, Vince Staples released Dark Times, and aside from the music, which is dope, I talk about what I appreciate most about Vince and the project. #VinceStaples #darktimes

I love Vince Staples. I love his perspective on a lot of things. I love how you said it never feels like hes trying to convince you of who he is. This project was really dope too

This channel is like the experience you get from your barber, and you come here because you barber gives you a quality cut and even though your cut may take longer you appreciate the experience, I just would like to see him debate with others live lol, because that would make it super rich and people would understand that the best barber is the one who has quality, and his experience is what he sells and that’s what people keep comin back for, Rapsody showed us this in her album with her hair stylist the call back to that brought me back to my childhood and this is why I come back to this channel cause it cuts the drama and the stories it just gives you something pure and unfiltered and respectful. Keep doing what you do bruh 🙏🏾✊🏾🔥

The last 3 projects Vince dropped are all cohesive, all classics.the execution from track to rollout to visuals is an experience. You really can’t lose when you make your lane.

We know you don’t care but forget the people who are counting views. For the ones who love this appreciate what you bring to this space! Most platforms didn’t even know Vince dropped, which is a shame. But for us who are just as excited for Vince as we all were for the Dot vs Drake beef appreciate this breakdown.

You, Justin Hunt, Speedy, and Jinx made me fall in love with hip-hop discourse all over again during the beef, especially during a time where there's a lot of outside eyes on our culture. I remember watching you back in middle school when Kendrick dropped To Pimp A Butterfly, and I didn't know too much about Hip-Hop journalists until the same names would come up. Great video, keep up the good work.

Damn Rob! You got me with this one. Vince is one of my favorite artists, because he makes different music while still being bar heavy. I feel like Vince Staples and Denzel Curry are my artists that I can depend on to make something with skill and originality. I truly appreciate you making a video just highlighting the project, because that's what we have to do! Just highlight the real stuff, and not complain about the redundant music. Anyway videos like this, X-Men 97, and the ones about your interests make your channel stand apart from most videos in our culture. It's quite refreshing to be able to listen you talk Dot and Drake, but also speak about all of this other stuff. Stay motivated bro.
@TeeDeWitt4 ай бұрын
Man... I don't comment often but just gotta say your videos are dope. I remember being younger and watching your interviews on MTV. And then years later you actually collabed with my homie Cantrell, and then just watching your coverage on all things hip-hop / comics. And I agree with your take on most things but even the things I don't I respect and appreciate your perspective. I say all of that to say, it's wild to me that people get on here and troll when they have a chance to speak to someone who's been in the game so long and been apart of pinnacle moments for the culture. I appreciate you taking the time and doing these videos man. You got a fan this way!

Love the content Rob! I’m here for all things Hip Hop and comic book related. Vince Staples is underrated. Dark Times is an amazing project!! My favorite tracks so far are “Black&blue” (the production!!), “Etouffee”, “Children’s Song” and “Little Homies”. I’m going through some things right now so the refrain “life hard but I go harder” is slowly becoming my new mantra! Keep sharing your thoughts brother. Can’t wait for the next episode!

I personally respect your perspective on hip hop and the artists place within it. Vince Staples hardly gets the love he deserves because what makes someone the best MC nowadays is whether they can make hit. I happen to disagree. There’s so many artists in the culture that just push art over charts. That’s the shit I chase and want to hear. Keep the channel real.

What's good Robm?! I totally agree with you about vince. He isn't pretending, and that is why I f with him and have been a fan since Norf Norf came out. He speaks the truth about his life and also us normals life. People used to love him in 2015ish but he dropped off and gets hate for being himself. Also agree with you about reviewing stuff, how many retires from the mainstream are even aware about most of the album they review. Also, how can they judge an album in a few weeks. Some classics have taken ages for me to love or appreciate it. I know reviews used to get promos, etc, but a lot of artists just from when they want now and how can they have a review with a score out of ten? They should all be called "my personal first inpress" How many times have big publications given totally universal classics a poor score. It'd just a wrong way of doing it. I'm currently on "because the Internet" after years, and it still blows me away how great it was, but I never see it in any best album lists people too. I find it crazy Been A subscriber of yours and genuis on my other account since day one. And I have a small channel and it's so tough to do things you want to do, even if it's better than some reaction of some tv show from 1990 and the person just laughs, that's the reaction. I had to just make kendrick and drake stuff for weeks as my other stuff never Got watched, and that was remixes of big songs. Just done one with kanue singing instead of kendrick on mirror. But the kendrxk hype seems to be dying down now. Yt is so poor really, nobody can do what they like as youtube always suggests or plats the same thing over and over. Love you work man. Keep it up. Refreshing, and I love your inside news as you're in that space too. It's great for Hip Hop youtube as everything is turning into random people watching stuff saying zip. Keeping it real 💯

Vince once again just removing the facade. He always has bars, but he has a people’s braggadocio. Always feels like he’s just around the corner, or you’ll catch him in the grocery store. Also never overstays his welcome. Gives you just enough to want some more, but content with what you get. This album just has me interested to see what he does next now that he’s completed his deal.

I loved the new album- Vince really is an individual, and is a supremely fascinating person to study. Shame on the devil feels like homage to Mac Miller- maybe that's just me, but his flow in the very beginning and then the subject matter kind talking about how the industry just eats people alive, like no matter what you do the fans or industry are going to get their pound of flesh. Its definitely one of those albums that makes you think, and will require several more spins.
