Well what a few days this was, I was extremely excited to get Skyla all painted, but if only I knew what was to come I might not have started!
Thankfully after everything possible going wrong, she got finished and looks amazing don't you think?!

This is crazy… I just decided on this same color for my tiny van because my decor on the inside is a pretty teal green, black and white. I have a Ford E350 so we won’t exactly be twins lol I never would’ve known imagined anyone else wanting this color but me lol… You van turned out BEAUTIFULLY ❤

@@AdventuresofSkyla I am rebuilding an old school sprinter on my channel, I'll need to think about painting it soon, I am not looking forward to it, does raptor liner work out more expensive then normal automotive paint?

@@zambotv8150 it cost me £342 to paint the whole van excluding the black bit at the bottom that was an extra £90 but could of cost me less as I only used 2 of that packets bottles, but I wasn’t sure. But I just know it’s really great for rust and hard wearing!

Wow that is vibrant, certainly not the typical van colour and much better than white. I hope you got your money back from the paint supplier? I like the roller painted idea just like Hubnut painted the Reliant fox on his channel. You have plenty of paint for future use, well done I like it :)

Such a lovely colour we love it! We have raptor paint ready to paint our van and was wondering if you added any thinners to it? We were told it would only take 2 coats and 3 days of dry to cure but now we are thinking maybe we might need to find somewhere dry if it's going to take that long and that many coats 😅 we are having nardo gray 🙌

Thank you! No we didn’t use any thinners! It really depends on the paint colour you are going to use, this was so light it took 4 coats, but a darker colour would take less coats etc, so you could be alright with nardo gray! The black was only 2 coats! It also took longer to dry because it was done in feb/March and was around 1/2 degrees! In the temperatures at the moment 3 days would be fine. ☺️

Food for thought….. looking at doing the same with a mk4 golf. Whilst the car itself is low mileage and good mechanically the paintwork isn’t so this seems the perfect solution! I just need watch some more and be brave !!

how many rollers did you use? (maybe 5, 10, 30?, I will also paint the sprinter). You used 16 liters of paint - color, right?

Oh the roller question is a hard one every pack we had had 8 in and we probably used 15 packs maybe more! And no we used 14 3 boxes of 4l of paint plus 2l of black paint

@@Tomasz-cq7ct we went for just foam roller as that was the texture we wanted some foam rollers are better than others we worked that out as we went along and only used the wickes ones as all the others went crap. They are in disposable so don’t want to go too pricey the don’t last long because of the type of paint you are using etc.

I got the packs they had 4 bottles in and in the turquoise I went through 3 boxes of 4 bottles and the black I used 2 bottles but had a lot left over

Our colour code wasn’t a generic one, we chose something really specific rather than a RAL number. But mixing wasn’t difficult at all.

Thanks! Yeh the raptor is tintable and then you just add the base coat colour you want to the mix!

@@AdventuresofSkyla where did you buy your base coat? 💗 I was looking at a company to spray my van and he laughed when I told him I want apple red and said you don’t put a campervan in that colour :(

@@whippetsadventuresandoneman oh gosh that’s not nice, the guys at the auto place couldn’t believe I was rollering it and kept trying to sell me a spray gun which I continuously refused. I would go somewhere else and go with a red colour you want and they can match it, that’s what I did! Hope that helps don’t let them make you feel like you can’t do it!

@@whippetsadventuresandoneman they didn’t mix it, I did it all myself! They just sold me the raptor and my base colour, which they actually got wrong and meant I had to spend a day driving back from the unit I used to get the right paint!

The code name of the colour is 26-0320 the other paint is just the raptor tintable paint and black raptor paint

I really hope you had took the side trim off before hand and did the silicone mod before painting it to stop it leaking in like they all do.

Yes you can but it give you a completely different finish, I wanted it to be Matt but look smooth which rollering it does. Spray would make it much more bumpy etc. And thank you!!
