The Raptors kicked off Vegas Summer League with one of the most loaded rosters in recent memory, even after losing Drew Timme. And they didn't disappoint.
Ulrich Chomche, Ja'Kobe Walter, Jonathan Mogbo and Jamal Shead are just 4 of the things to watch for Toronto. Branden Carlsen has been a revelation as a stretch 5 and despite some up-and-down moments Gradey has been alright. Ochai, Jamison Battle and others have been good, and Jevon Freeman-Liberty almost makes the Raptors unfair.
They have their work cut out against Utah, with a bunch of talented kids, including USC guard Isaiah Collier and big Kyle Filipowski.. the guys many fans FELT the Raptors should have drafted in place of Walter and Mogbo. Should be fun.

Playing without Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo, the Toronto Raptors weren't able to keep their perfect Summer League record alive.
The Utah Jazz broke out to a big lead in the second quarter and were able to hold off the Raptors' late comeback effort to take an 86-76 win on Wednesday night.
Toronto turned to a full-court press in the final minutes of the fourth quarter that helped them chip into Utah's lead - cutting their deficit as low as six - but Utah's lead was a little too big to overcome.
Javon Freeman-Liberty led the way for Toronto, pouring in 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor and 3-of-6 shooting from deep. He also mixed in two rebounds and three assists in just less than 24 minutes.
No other Raptors scored in the double digits, but undrafted free agent signing Branden Carlson made an impact on both ends of the floor, recording seven points, five rebounds and two blocked shots.
Jamal Shead finished with seven points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals, helping the Raptors' comeback effort with his work on the defensive end.

Appreciate your new communication style plan Rob. I've struggled at work with being too matter of fact, negative in my tone and prickly. Reminding myself every morning to be chill at work is the only thing that has helped haha. Thanks for another detailed live I can't get anywhere else!

To be honest, the first couple videos I watched of yours you did come off as arrogant to me. Though I think I was just caught off guard by how confident you were in what you believed and how direct you were with people when you thought they were wrong. Most people I know skirt around things and are timid. I now really admire these things about you and I have a lot of respect for you. The way you communicate is inspiring to me and I hope to communicate in a similar way. You are a real one 👌and I can't get enough of the vids!

Kind of love how you went from sounding not overly enthused about Chomche talk on draft night especially before the 45th pick was made and some were talking about him, to now where you're seeing what we see. The passing tonight and that very easy alley oop finish made me one happy Raptor fan. Really like this kid. I thought we may have to wait 3 years for him to be in rotation. He might beat that prediction. Lastly I really like how he looks the media right in the eye. I wish I had half the confidence he does when I was that age. lol

the stuff he's doing right now isn't really similar (imo) to what he was doing the last few times I saw him playing. I'm very encouraged.

on what you've said in the end here.. it truly is honorable for you to try and change your ways and continue to grow.. it is the most valuable trait of them all... i also think that we as a community or a society have to do better and not be so closed minded when it comes to first impressions or even prejudice, that also often have been created by hearsay. We have to be able to hone in on what is said, instead of who says it, or what is done instead of who does it.. this way we would give more room for personalities to evolve freely and without the pressure of how we might be seen in this society. We need empathy back in our society, by now it's all talk about improving here and improving there, which, don't get me wrong here, is honorable like i said.. but we also have to make sure that there is room for people to be who they are, as long as their behaviour doesn't hurt anyone or anything. Trying to work on yourself and better yourself is good.. but respecting each other and seeing each other the way we are is key. and as a side note.. what really sticks out here.. you see the personality of these players.. where others often only see the numbers.. or the highlights.. that's what seperates you from other creators.. and i am glad that i found your channel and been following you since the raps drafted scotty.. just keep it going and your effort will come to fruition.

Also think that if you would convert your KZbin content to Podcast formats, you would increase traffic to the KZbin channel and create a new revenue stream. Podcasts work great for mobile use. IMHO

Liked what I saw from Cody Williams from his limited time with the ball, really wish we had found a way to trade up and draft him. He's going to be a tier-1 role player in a couple years once he conditions a bit more and gets some more nba experience.

The way you feel about Ulrich is the way I looked at Neemias Queta 3 years ago. I watched him at college, and Kings g league loved everything he did. I still think he has a high ceiling, Ulrich is so humble and hard working like Queta he will definitely be good.

@pensarebasketball I'm not comparing players, you missed the point I was making. You love the player Chomche for his potential and for his humble willingness to learn. That's the same feeling I have for Queta he's humble hard working with high potential, that's all.

I hated that trade from the word go. NEVER trade first round picks for less than borderline all-star guys. Wasted pick. Could have picked up Collier/Filipowski/Dunn etc. Or just package a pair of picks to try and trade up for Ware.

I was hoping to draft Filipowski at 31. When I saw him play today, I was shocked - fluid and so skilled….😭. He looked like a seven footer with guard skills!

I'm a big fan as well. He was my top pick at 31 and even considered him with our 20s pick soon as we traded for it. Markannen on the cheap. No offense to Jakobe, but there's a lot of guys I would have taken over him and Flip is one of them. On the plus side, Chomche looked pretty comfortable. Can't wait to see where he's at by end of season in G League.

@@jokchung Feel like I'm one of the people who genuinely doesn't care about the older woman. I'd be a lot more concerned if he was one of the many guys caught with underage girls rather than the other way around. As long as his woman ain't bat shit crazy and a distraction to the Jazz who cares really? lol

I think mistakes are what make us learn and get better. No one gets better by doing stuff they are already good at. It is the great lessons that can be learned in athletics. Everyone fails in athletics, even the best. And beating up on inferior opponents makes no one better. Losing in a controlled environment is a great teacher.

Trying to be constructive here: From what I’ve noticed on Players Choice, you have a dismissive reaction when you think another person’s comments are stupid. Also, you tend to fervently correct people when you don’t agree with their point and start to cut them off from speaking. For example, if someone thinks someone is a good finisher at the rim, but you know they’re not, you’ll correct them with a tone that makes them feel stupid for not knowing. This is all something i have to work on getting better at too, it’s tough to bite the bullet when you have a lot of insight into a topic. Try to add to or alter people’s points rather than dismissing them. The main takeaway is people don’t like to feel stupid and people generally find people that make other people feel stupid unlikeable. (Even if you are right and they are being stupid you have to bite the bullet)
