At SXSW 2015, Rapzilla.com interviewed S1 about how his first hit with Kanye, "Power," happened, as well as how he landed with his label. S1 also shared one of his funniest Kanye stories that, at least for S1, wasn't funny in the moment.

There's only so far a criticizing heart can take you. This man has a good head on his shoulder. firstly, he ran an important decision through his wife to hear her thoughts. That resulted in giving two beats away for free. which the resulted in getting Kanye to hear his work. which led to S1 producing a track for Kanye. To all you Christian trolls, if you spent less time criticizing behind a keyboard rather than edifying, you might be placed in a similar position of influence over people in powerful statuses like this brother did here. I enjoy this song more now knowing a Christian produced it.

This is an awesome story! He's a clear example of your talents making room for you. Both Power and especially Murder to Excellence are two of my favorite songs.

Wait I don't get this video, why is he working with Kanye helping Kanye release new music? I understand if he's preaching the gospel to Kanye and leading by example but when you help an artist release poison , that's no good.

The funny thing about all the people in the comments criticizing this man... is that Kanye recently have his life to Christ. I’m sure this man sowed a few heavenly seeds

Wait - this is a Christian group? Because I honestly can't tell by the comments. Unbelievable how judgmental some of you all are. Sort of "un-Christian" right??

Moses could have said the same thing. He could have said i'm a Christian and enjoyed all that Pharaoh had to offer but what does the scriptures say? Hebrews 11:24-26-24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Our gifts should be used for the glory of the Most High, not for satan and his wicked agendas. Clear cut, he supplies the beats, they rap total foolishness over them. No need to complicate this. You can say you are a Christian all you want, that doesn't prove anything.

mach e how can you ever introduce Christ to them?

People like you is the reason why nobody wants to come to Christ. Lead by example instead of judging this man. Also, S1 is not responsible for what people do with his beats, he simply makes them. And, not all rap is bad, if you listened to some good songs and tried to understand the meaning you would understand
